Pat - have you visited http://www.castlemore.co.uk/?
A very extensive description of their major developments as they featured in their presentation last night. But no mention of Bell Green at application or approved.

Westwood Hill/Cobbs Corner Traffic Disruption
Just a warning to people planning to travel through Sydenham tomorrow. The Lawrie Park Road closure was, this afternoon and without notice, extended into Westwood Hill. Traffic lights/one way working on Westwood Hill operate from Cobbs Corner wobbly roundabout to St Bart's Church. This 'locks' the i...

I've been working from home recently and noticed the calm of LPR just minutes after they closed the road. Yep - it is quiet - because nothing is happening! Walked down to Kirkdale at 4pm. Not a worker to be seen. Just signs saying its going to last 4 weeks - and no wonder! The cutting of a major Lo...

Lawrie Park Road to close
Spotted today on the 176 bus stop: "Lawrie Park Road will be closed on 8th June 2005 for upto 4 weeks..."
It would have been nice for Transco/LBL to have informed the residents. Or don't we count?

Twilights to return?
When walking past Twilights this weekend I noticed an application for re-licensing the premises as a private club. Applicants were two ladies from Croydon and the application was suposed to have been heard last month.
Anybody know anything?

The Sun's Topless Photo
You can see it here: http://images.thesun.co.uk/picture/0,,2005210865,00.jpg Actually it is a No 75 stuck under the Southend Lane railway bridge (by SavaCentre) last Friday morning. The Sun got the story completely wrong (surprise, surprise) and wanted to charge us over £100 to put that picture on t...

Forest Hill Swimming Pool
Lewisham are proposing a public consultation on the replacement or refurbishment of Forest Hill Pools. There is a useful thread in our neighbouring Forum here: http://se23.com/forum/messages/9/507.html?1113214113 As Forest Hill Pool in Dartmouth Road probably serves as much of Sydenham as Forest Hil...

Re venue. The obvious place is the Greyhound Car Park. However the attempts at a French Market were not very successful and the boot sale last week was not well attended either. We used to sell Traidcraft stuff (as did White's Pet Shop) and Somerfield's have made a good stab at providing organic stu...

You may have some good national policies but you simply can't just parachute yourself into a community because there's an election on having sat on your backside for five years. On a point of fact - how do you parachute into a constituency you already live in? (Catford is his address according to h...

This weekend someone appears to have demolished the reinforced concrete sign at the Golden Lion. Must have caused cons...
