Re: Planning Applications for The Kirkdale Institute
Very balanced and well thought out. There will always be those who move close to something then complain about it, airport, railway line etc.
Re: Birds ...
Has anyone seen the owl? I hear it occasionally, but have never seen it. I have all those birds in my garden. Lots of jays this year, more than usual. There were 2 pairs in Sydenham Hill Woods last Spring I believe and I often hear a male in Wells Park just after dusk. (North Western side/Longton a...

Re: Wells Park Road
Hello, I haven't been near this forum for about eighteen months but have played catch up over the christmas period. I grew up in Wells Park Road and am a bit confused by your question about Tynewald (Tynwald) House. It's a large block of flats and is very much still there. There are several blocks,...

Re: Sydenham Road Traders online
I agree, it must have information such as local demographics, buying habits, it would be good get some surveys done for the area etc Other traders groups, BIS and councils are doing this in other areas. Not even established businesses like Kirkdale Bookshop have a twitter account, which I found sur...

Re: Sydenham Road Traders online
Some places have twitter accounts and they tweet latest specials/events etc. Good point - are there will be plenty more bits of data which could be brought together. There is a tweetsDulwich account which pools info from local traders to tweet to the public and follows and ReTweets other local busi...

New L&Q residents in Shifford Path and Perry Vale
Are there any L&Q residents from Shifford Path or Perry Vale who would like to join the Community board, which meets 4 times a year to oversee how L&Q - our landlords - are doing?
Let me know and I'll give you some contact details.
It is unpaid, sadly.

Re: Birds ...
I suspect I share some of the birds I see with manwithaview, in particular the woodpecker which is an infrequent visitor to our garden. To add to the diversity of species I see a robin occasionally, plenty of magpies, a couple of wrens, blackbirds, thrushes, the occasional Jay, pararkeets flying ov...

Re: Wanted: Your advice needed.
Have you thought of contacting local organisations like L&Q at Kingswear House, Dartmouth road. They have grants available for groups like yours. Not a huge amount but four figure sums...

Re: New to Sydenham
I have just brought a flat on Lawrie Park and am new to the area and have a few questions. Is Sydenham a safe, nice place to live? It seems a lovely area, green, calm etc but having lived in other more bustling parts of London I find it a lot quieter/sedate in comparison. I also notice on the forum...
Re: Birds ...
I live on the 5th storey of a 6 storey block and we get starlings, goldfinches, greater spotted woodpecker, robin, great tit, blue tit, coal tit, nuthatch, wood pigeons, pied wagtail, stock dove and feral pigeons. All on my tiny balcony. I have a selection of seeds and nuts from Wilkinsons.
