Re: Mopeds
Well I live up by Sydenham station above the shops on the high street and can concur, they come down through here every weekend and sometimes midweek in the evenings, very loud and in large groups. This of course is not breaking any laws, but I am not sure if what they are doing in Sainsbury's car p...

Latest picture update:-
Work on the rear of the roof cover went on last week, they have also been doing some work on internal walls which may not show well in the picture.

Well I do think Venner Square has a nicer ring to it than "The noisy end of Venner Rd"
As for Kirkdale Village (Where I reside) I did laugh...... my best mate lives in New Eltham and he always calls it New Eltham Village

Unless it's insured 3rd Party, Fire & Theft and the owner is at fault, in which case the insurance company won't care.

Re: Street advertising on high street
I'm currently on maternity leave so have been going to Sydenham High Street on a regular basis during the day. The advertisers who sell on the public square next to Natwest are a bit of a menace (tend to be visa, talk talk, sky etc...) and I wanted to complain to the local council. Does anyone know...

Re: Thinking of buying - need some advice on the area
I moved into Sydenham 10 months ago and regret nothing. The shops/transport links and community are really good. A far improvement from where I lived before with drug dealing in the streets and hooligans everywhere :) If you are looking to use a property agent, I used Property World in Sydenham (tho...

Re: Street signs-advice please?
The only place that immediately comes to mind is the shop next to the Harbour 321 fish bar. They do engraving of trophies etc and sell items that can be engraved. If they don't have what you need, they may be able to recommend someone who can. Just passed Sydenham Station (purple shop front), I thin...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
It's been a couple of weeks since I last posted an elavated picture, mostly as not a lot of visual work had taken place. This weekend they started on the timber work and decorative features of the triangle things (gables? Biscuitman will need to confirm, I have no idea lol). Brickwork seems to have ...

Well apologies for bumping an old thread but... I just finally got around to registering (work has been manic)... this is my experience of the Sydenham Surgery. I have also noticed the drop in quality personally. You can also tell that a lot of people have noticed it as there was usually always a few people in front of you when you go in, now you go in and get served straight away, it's clearly not as busy as it was.

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
Thanks, Parker1970. Those with a keen eye for detail will see that the porthole window in the middle gable is now in position (as of this morning) and brickwork is being laid around it. The brickwork on the right hand gable is also nearly complete, following the installation of a new lintel over th...

No, it was just off the roundabout on Kirkdale/Datrmouth Road.I hammer wrote:If the car crash happened near Tesco, I'm not surprised, as that is a chaotic narrowing of the road.
I was diverted away from it yesterday but it looked bad, 3 fire engines, 2 ambulances, 2 police cars and all closed off.
