Re: Mess left in Mayow Park
When lockdown started in March, the amount of litter in all the local parks really increased, especially as restrictions were slowly eased. Most of the litter was drink bottles and cans, but also lots of other picnic and snack type rubbish. Such a pity people are too lazy to carry their rubbish home.

Re: Local public transport and face coverings
None of the double deckers I've been on recently - 185, 176, 197, are charging. Nor are they restricting numbers. People are still getting on the 356 and saying they haven't got their card and expect a free ride. They are able to go shopping but claim they don't have a travel or credit card! Lots of...

I started using ID mobile this year and it is not good. Very poor reception in many areas as well as at home.

Re: Lots of planes
After my initial post over a weekend, the number of planes really dropped again. But in the last couple of days there are more planes again. I've been in hornimans park last 2 days and quite a few planes going over, though still nowhere near normal level.

Re: Sydenham has highest Covid deaths in Lewisham!
I don't think the care home at Cobbs corner has been a care home for some years. It's now split into 3 places, probably some form of assisted living accommodation, rather than an actual care home. The one in Lower Sydenham is Peartree. There is also Barchester on Westwood Hill.
Re: SCAMS
I had a very genuine looking email saying my tv licence expired end of April and to click on something to pay. Luckily I knew immediately it was a fake as my licence doesn't expire in April and the licence number they gave was totally wrong.

Bob Porecha shop
I see the old Bob Porecha bike shop on lower Sydenham road is now a small "convenience store". Doesn't seem to be any news signs up.

Lots of planes
Having had almost empty skies the last few weeks, today lots of planes came over, both cargo and passenger. Coming over lower sydenham from Beckenham direction. It was quite noisy compared to last few weeks.

Re: Post Office
I had an email from the Post Office this morning, but of course not specific to Sydenham...................... We know how important Post Office branches are to our customers. And we, alongside our postmasters and branch colleagues are doing all that we can to keep our branches open, so that we can ...

It all seems to have gone quiet again. No sign of any workmen. And the supermarket shelves haven't been moved.

Re: PX56 GFV Car Thieves' registration number
Some friends had their Prius catalytic converter stolen at lunchtime in Sainsbury's car park at Forest Hill in August. The police weren't much help as it is such a common crime now. And to make matters worse my friends are still waiting for a replacement part.
