Ikea have a delivery service which is £30 from Purley to Sydenham - useful if you end up unexpectedly ordering large pieces of furniture - they will usually deliver on the day if you want (we had popped in one sunday, bought some flatpacks and the delivery arrived from Ikea 15 mins after we got back...

I'm also a BBC (british born chinese) woman. I lived in Tower Hamlets for 12 years and received the odd bit of verbal (the usual ) a couple of times from groups of ignorant kids - usually it'll be some kid in a group who's trying to impress his /her friends and show them how hard/daring he/she is. S...

I've walked past this several times before but i didn't realise this was a restaurant. I'm sorry but the sign above the restaurant kinda makes it look like a fast food/take away eatery place. But I will come and check it out soon. I like the food in Ghurkas, but they take there time serving dishes o...

I would also recommend Michale Rolle. Reasonable rates and we found him to be extremely helpful and informative. Unfortunately, he did say he was moving to Croydon soon :( - not sure if he'll have moved by now.

there's a small chinese supermarket on Catford Road, "FLK Chinese Groceries" (the No 75 bus stops outside it) - it's next to the Uniplan agency (opp the sports ground). I haven't been in there yet. Keep meaning to. I think it's closed on Sundays.

You could try Paul Strube of Strube & Co (based on Sydenham Road; google "strube & co"). I've used him before for buying my house in Syd and I thought he did a good job for me and kept me informed at all times on progress - I'm pretty sure he does wills too. I'm using him again too...

Grrrrr. Wish I'd taken a different route. It took me 45 minutes this evening to get through from East Dulwich to Sydenham (via Syd Hill). Combination of heavy traffic due to the Jerk Cookout Festival in Hornimann Gardens, and cars parked on both sides of the roads with not enough room for a bus and ...

They must have put the wrong banner up on the park fence the other day as it was advertising some funfair in Beckenham?? They must have changed it in the last day or so, as there is now a banner for a funfair in Mayow Park from today through to Sunday 9th August. This morning it looked more like a m...

I walk up and down this road every morning and every evening and have noticed that the speed humps are not working. Many of the cars do not slow down. The only vehicles this would appear to have to slow down are the small, narrower types - otherwise most other vehicles can easily drive over these wi...
