A Family Classified section in SF?
This issue has been raised before and has just now re-surfaced: following from Gill's recent querie about facilities for children in the area and my tentative reply to her (am quite new here myself...), there has been a deluge of mails recording similar interest and need. It seems that there is a si...

Re: Post all the news of the Riots here (To make it easy)
You are all inspiring me.... I am now determined to go to the Tratoria for a gorgeous italian meal with my kids this evening; oh well, we'll just have to run home if need be... Just arrived from work and did what most of you were doing-went into any shop open and chatted, browsed, bought bits and pi...

Re: Recommend me some books to read please
Pat Barker’s Regeneration trilogy: recently recommended by one of our book club members, I just cannot put them down. An extremely moving account of World War I events and their impact on the lives of all of those touched by them. The more affective because some of the characters are real life ones ...

Re: Thinking of moving to Sydenham...please help
I live in the Thorpes (my patner and I moved recently, when prices were at their lowest and those of where we left - Islington - at their highest, so we were lucky to afford it. I cannot believe what you say about the estate agent... I have never come across such a beautiful group of streets packed ...

Re: Book Clubs
I sent you a PM on the 14 March re the initial planning meeting on tuesday the 29th. As you were not able to make it I promised I would take forward your suggestions and would get in touch with you after the meeting. Did you get that message? Am worried about not using the system properly... I also ...
Re: CINEMAS
There is now a fully funded Sydenham Film Club: if you scroll down under Town Hall you will find confirmation + a 5 minute survey of the kinds of films we would like to see and in what way we would like to be involved.

Re: Book Clubs
Thank you very much HD for your help and advice - and yes, I copied and pasted my message to all interested parties. Well, as there were 9 of them it wasn't too bad... In future, however, when the club is fully up and running after the next planning meeting I really must learn how to reply to many a...

Re: Rehearsal Space Plea! Short piece for Sydenham Arts Fest
Hi Rosalind - we have a fairly large & private attic room - my favourite room in the house - and it will be free during those dates. Let me know if you are still searching for a space and if something like that would be adequate. You wld have the keys and come in and out as you would wish. Good ...

Re: Book Clubs
Ok, I will stick my neck out...
Tomorrow I will pm all those who have expressed a firm interest in forming a brand new book club; I will suggest a venue - the day will be tuesday (a stated choice from one of us) and the time probably 7pm.
To be continued..

Re: Book Clubs
I have now joined a book club in the Sydenham Library - it happens on the first tuesday of the month, from 6.60 to 7.30. I do find, however, that the time if very inconvenient for me - so early and clashing with returns from work, tea time, etc; also one hour, I feel, is a very short time - especial...

Yes, yes, I think you are right: the pub idea is a great one (of course)
We will see if there are enough takers. How many is enough, I wonder? Suggestions completely different from mine highly welcome
