Well done to the Carole Singers on the Thorpes last night. With the snow on the ground, it felt like a lovely start to Christmas. And for a good local cause too. Hope it becomes a tradition.

We have seen a real uplift in numbers of carole singers this year. Most welcome.

A couple of years ago I was forever answering the door to surly teenagers from the local estate (I think) who would mumble out a perfunctory song before the hand was thrust out but this year they have been properly chaperoned and much improved! Bright as a button and pleasant to boot.

Times, they are a changing [in Sydders].

The group who came around to us were adults. They had dropped a letter around the week before to give advance notice that they were collecting for the mosaic installation at the Naborhood.

Really well sung with full harmonies.
