Re: copyright issues

ok ........ as it's not a product in current production there is little likelihood that they could make intellectual property rights stick in a legal claim, but they do have to be careful of that all the time. They say that they have no objection to the old Jubbly photo being used in a non-commercia...

Re: copyright issues

well, i dont want to say too much, just in case. hopefully it can be dealt with via admin. I used the image to jog some memories, and as i say, there is no commercial aspect here. the guy in question had previously used the image with permission from the intellectual owners, but since then it has be...

I have received a series of threats about one image i posted here a few years ago. it is a simple image obtained from one of many of the same image on the web, from a personal family blog site, i believe. I am now being threatened with legal action, and have removed the image temporarily, under dure...

in this 1870s map, there is a bridge accross the railway at Langley rise. there was nothing on the other side at that point, so it must have been mainly for railway or farm use http://lh5.ggpht.com/_UoDuVuP1yO0/S6zsC5k10tI/AAAAAAAAAC0/4r5qz8P2QrE/s512/cp%20highg%20level%20honor%20oak%20section..1871...

im not sure which map you mean, but i dont see how the canal could ever have been west of the railway...without even more locks. the canal only goes uphill at a lock...the rest of the time it follows the flattest route possible, using embankments and cuttings to stay level. the clay used would be lo...

in this 1862 map, the line of the towpath is marked as a footpath and a line of trees leading south east then south from st james' church
the towpath was on the east side of the canal.

Hi Keithec, As far as we can be sure the route is pretty certain around this area, predominantly due to the canal following the same contour line at each level, and from the allignments of the original maps. Certainly it may be a few yards either way of the map as its accepted today, but still withi...

In response to some earlier posts, here are some maps that show the remnants of the canal around forest hill. im sure there would have been damp areas for years afterwards I also remember a 'pond' in what is now the garthorne rd reserve in the '60s, right on the bed of the what we now know was the c...
