try calling Envirocall - i'm not certain if they are actually part of Lewisham council - i think they are a sub contractor. they sort out all the refuse and recycling collections. their number is 0208 314 7171. we also got a selection of wheely bin sized recycling facilities for our road, and someti...

hi clown in the past i have ususally had to negotiate with friendly bar staff, to put rugby on. failing that, the best thing to do is go to your local rugby club, and see if they are showing the games (there are a few around the copers cope road area - the old natwest sports club, and hsbc too) in t...

I dont understand the problem, really. Does it matter where the extra park space is coming from ? The fact that it is being reclaimed doesnt make a scrap of difference - it is still adding to the available green space. You are partially right, in that I am making assumptions that the new buildings w...

As an addendum to my last post, I saw the map in the LDA tent, where visitors were to add a dot, to show where they had come from. I do not know if this was wiped clean when the tent moved to its site at the Upper Norwood Gate, but there was a dearth of blue dots in the whole of the Sydenham area. I...

I also bet there isnt another park in the country where land can be sold off for development, and the park still ends up with more open acreage than it had before. If the park were to end up substantially smaller then I too would not be happy. If the buildings looked particularly out of place, I too...

But, if the proposals were to go ahead, there would actually be a greater area of park land at the end of it - so where's the problem ? As previously posted, none of the proposed developments look like they would affect any of the vistas. The development at the 'top' of the park, where the campsite ...

I think the whole thing looks pretty good. There is no denying that pretty much all of the park is in a bit of a state, thanks to much neglect over the past few years. All the buildings, with the exception of the newly built (and to date, unused) urban farm building, and the stage at the bowl, are a...

Well, according to Simon Jordan, the Crystal Palace Chairman, CPFC are keeping a close eye on the stadium, and he sees it as an option for their relocation. He says he would welcome discussion with Mayor Ken about it. The article was in last Sundays Observer. Personally, I dont know if it suitable a...

It's there now, and well worth checking out the whole document, as well as the LDA website. There are some superb ideas there, particularly for the development of the sports facilities. I would love to see the removal of that raised walkway in between the stadium and the swimming pool, so it would b...

Does anyone have any info about organised walks in Crystal Palace Parks, whereby mothers with prams get together for a brisk walk ?
I thought I had seen something on STF, but cannot find anything.

hi nasaroc, sorry but ive not been in here for a few days. i also have to admit that, prior to my last posting i had had a few shandies. i stand by the comment about there being more to life than house prices. the 'value' of a property is immaterial, as most of us are generally paying a mortgage to ...

thanks wrightie. i agree with everything you have said there. i've lived in sydenham for 20 years, and east dulwich has been a regular haunt of mine. a couple of nice pubs here and there, is one thing, but when a whole bunch of 'media types' as you say, move in, then the whole place heads south, in ...

still awaiting the arival of child, so couldnt get there myself, but would also be interested to hear of any upshot. i did pop into the two halves though, the other afternoon, and saw, positively, that they have introduced a quite expansive west indian menu. i didnt get a chance to try it, as i coul...
