as previously stated, im off to france if they ever get in again. i know there are a lot of disgruntled labour supporters, as i myself was - i think there were many voters who expected a more socialist party, and a bit more change. however, i think that running a country is similar to commanding an ...

i did mention on another thread, that the six bottles of badger ale for £5, really is unbeatable, and if you have a taste for a sweeter beer, try the more expensive badger champion ale, which has a taste of elderflower - it really is award winningly good. Alcohol is the last refuge of the lush - Fis...
i see your point. there is no easy answer. abstention means you lose any direct say you have in our democratic process, a vote for one of the smaller parties means potentially splitting the vote, giving the Tories a back door in, and a direct vote for the Tories means taking us back to the dark ages...

i remember that back room, i saw john otway perform in there some years ago, and also used to watch boxing matches being shown on television. the mosiac tiled atrium (?) was also fantastic, i wondered what had happened to it. i think the theme pub has had its day (please god). i think there is defin...
hi again paddy my point about the cross-party support was, if you will not vote labour, because of the war, then who can you vote for ? voting for an independent, standing on an anti war platform for instance, whilst possibly keeping your conscience clear, is a waste of time. you will get an mp who ...
Well Iraq was going to enter the forum at some time I suppose, and if there is anything which will prevent Labour getting another term, then it will be Iraq. It may have been a war about oil, and it may even have been an opportunity for Bush to settle an old score, on behalf of his father, but we sh...

I get your point on the posters Paddy. What the Tories are doing is just frightening us, without actually giving any solutions. Its all about taxes, gypsies, crime and immigration - and its all done in Daily Mail rhetoric - and in a childlike (or foreign exchange dealers) handwriting. The man behind...

Blimey, does this Ukip chappy actually want to be our MP ? He doesnt seem to be going about it in a very good way. I think he would do a lot better on a town forum website for, say, Tonbridge, half of which probably thinks we are still at war anyway. I have corresponded several times with Jim Dowd, ...

property prices go up and down. i wouldnt worry about it, having lived in a property for many years with negative equity. there are pros and cons to renting or buying; a mortgage is really just like renting from the bank/building society anyway. so long as you can afford the payments, i wouldnt worr...

Graffiti Initiative
I think sending pictures of graffiti, and stuff that has been dumped, to the council, is a briliant idea, although I fear the council may have bitten off more than they can chew - looking at the number of pictures that have been submitted to them. What is also ironic, is that the Google generated ad...

Its a good idea, but I do find it difficult to determine what is truth and what is fiction, what is good and what is bad, and what should be treated seriously and what is a bit of a laugh.
I just think, if possible, we should try and have a laugh at anything we can, unless it is in totally bad taste.

Hi Jane. I've done Cafe Jeera, and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, nothing has matched The Surma ('tis a pity it's in East Dulwich) which is the finest curry house I have ever had the pleasure of sampling. The best one in the immediate vicinity, has probably been the Gurkha. Best chippy is deffo K...

More New Gas Mains
Did I read a thread somewhere about Lawrie Park Road being the next area to be dug up, for gas main replacement ? If so, is there any further information about it anywhere ?
