Re: Power Issues at Bell Green Retail Park

21:10 on Sunday evening 23 February.

Another mili-second interruption in out power supply on Perry Hill.

Sets alarms off in our house and around us - pc's, tv's all blink and recover.

Reading the reports, it would seem that changing the heading to "guns or knives" might be more accurate? Bad enough, either way.
Good point.

You are a mine of information JGD. Can I borrow you for a pub quiz sometime?
Thank you for the thought. Can't think of the last pub quiz in which railway questions of this type were asked.

And when it comes to the TV soaps questions - I am completely hopeless.

Made me smile tho'.

Bell Green development - change in public leadership?

It's time for change SydSoc. The Society has not displayed sufficient expertise or adequate resources to make meaningful progress. The failure to invite joint leadership or to offer to stand down as the "sole" body leading on a project and let those communities who live next to the site appoint a P...

Car Jacking - Drivers Attacked with Guns and Knives

Worryingly two car jacking incidents so close together in last few days. The first in Bromley involved thugs using guns whilst impersonating police officers. https://www.newsshopper.co.uk/news/18244635.robbers-posed-police-officers-stole-mans-range-rover-gunpoint-bromley/ The second in Sydenham atta...

Re: Southeastern trains - how are they?

Here is an independent site that will provide an historic analysis of train departures and arrivals for all trains between two stations. https://raildar.co.uk/ You need to register. registration is quick and its personal use is free. So for your proposed route Sydenham Hill to Herne Hil, use "Train ...

Re: Gentrifiers

As a “cliche” gentrifier (who can, and does afford Islington) but have bought in Sydenham, why would you suggest that it’s those families who “aren’t from around here” are the issue? More like bikers who flaunt rules if the road are only exclusive to SE London? Grow up. Joined:17 Feb 2020 18:42 Las...

Re: Gentrifiers

Interesting signage. There are four "No Motor Vehicles"signs mounted on two standard posts circa 75mm (3 inches) in diameter and form two "gates", one "gate" facing onto Grierson Road only and the other contra-facing onto the junction of Honor Oak Park and Grierson Road. One "gate" defines where the...

Re: Gentrifiers

If you plan to contact them, you are entitled to request which TMO covers the restriction and when and where it was published.

If they decline to answer, which they shouldn’t, you can always resort to an FOI request.

Good luck.

Maybe did not make the point clearly enough.

Perhaps the sign has been erected without authority and in itself is unlawful.

The Big Breakfast morphs into Forest Cafe and Bistro (Pic added)

Down in Perry Vale this morning for what could be a last bacon roll and coffee in the Big Breakfast to meet with a friend. Work is progressing rapidly with the conversion of the corner site and the external shop fronts and signs are up on both elevations and 'lo, 'tis now revealed to be re-branded a...

Re: Gentrifiers

Perhaps they have had to put up the no motorcycles sign to reinforce the point, because motorcycle riders are ignoring the restriction? I would imagine the lack of appropriate, clear signage may have meant it wasn't enforceable either. Although it looks fairly obvious, due to the large gate across ...

Noisy vehicles, quads, motorbikes and whatever are a source of regular irritation to us on the main roads in our area - especially the nocturnal offenders. I think irritation with motorbikes with non-compliant silencers transcends class boundaries Don't recall Syd advising us he fits into that categ...

Combination of setups here at home. PC's, laptops iPhones and iPads (locked at IoS 10.3) ; Safari, Chrome and latest Edge (all up to date).

Most ok but suddenly iPad has taken to displaying the semi-colon bug. Cleared history etc - no change.

No real hardship imposed on us - just odd.

It is difficult to assess to what degree your property is in or under the area beneath whatever type of communal walkway is present and whether this means part of your property is in fact below ground level (or not if its an elevated walkway). Dependant upon what that position is, you may be better ...

The weather overnight and this morning is atrocious.

High winds bending trees over, rain bucketing down and visibility is very poor.

So poor - we can't see the gas-holders anymore.

It appears the move to the front from the rear was a direct response from complaints by those on the FB page which kicked this off. Well done to them. If these are the same as Canada Goose Jackets - where can you get them, I'm looking for a new one.

However a Hoose Jacket in Scotland is something you wear around your hame.

Re: Power Issues at Bell Green Retail Park

In this case - I don't actually know. But a major difference that can arise between a store refurbishment and a new-build project is one of error of assumptions for a refurb. For a new-build it is a fundament that designers will know that a new power head will be required and detailed calcs will det...
