Re: Livesey Hall War Memorial added to 'at risk' register
Even more saddening - the front three panels on the memorial were reported stolen in October 2011. Simply put - over 12 years ago. This is how the memorial looked before the theft. http://lewishamwarmemorials.wdfiles.com/local--files/memorial:sydenham-south-suburban-gas-works-ww1-and-ww2-war-m/SBGGW...

Re: Livesey Hall War Memorial added to 'at risk' register
In posts from 2018 expressing regret about the theft of the several brass plaques from the War Memorial, this was said: ...accusations that there is shame does not lie in the nature of the temporary repairs. It specifically lies in the theft of the solid brass original plaques from the memorial by r...

An update on fundraising today from Tim Walker, FHSoc Executive committee member. ‘Thank you to everyone for so much support in such a short time. London City Airport Expansion: Fund-raiser for Planning Inquiry
London City Airport's planning application for expansion of its operations was rejected by LB Newham. Newham rejected it on the grounds of noise and the reduction of the long-established weekend respite by extending flying hours to include all day Saturdays. Expanded flight proposals would bring an ...

Re: Planning Application - Gas Holder site
Interesting - whatever modification Lewisham made to the entry, it triggered an automatic update email to me.
Whilst the email set the status as "Decided" the entry in the portal was set to "Withdrawn by Applicant".

Ha - Cruella will be even more intrigued by this revelation.
Long term reconnaissance - and looking very organised in their little sailor suits too.
Supported by the little guy in the red trousers - is he one of the much-vaunted leftie lawyers?

Rumour is Ms Braverman is desperate for intel about where the trowel carrying terrorists hid their little boats before sailing out to the island roundabout illegally.
More power to their collective elbows.
Delightful outcome.

Re: London City Airport Expansion Plan - Refused
Within 24 hours of LB Newham refusing planning permission to expand its operations, London City Airport announces it will appeal the planning decision that stops them stealing away peaceful enjoyment of Saturdays from thousands of overflown Londoners. Entirely expected. Only question was how quickly...

Re: Monopole telecoms mast application at Bell Green
Done. I wish to object to this application. The selected location is an already narrow footpath which is a choke point for pedestrians, pram users and wheelchair users. The installation will unnecessarily further obstruct this section of pavement. It may be anticipated that the installer deems this ...

This "top prioritisation" adds weight to the argument to see more efficient deployment of resources as being critical in preventing repetition of this form of crime. Five or six incidents means five or six more opportunities in which CCTV images could be secured and then using rapid scanni...

Re: Public Meeting: Development Proposals for Livesey Hall and Environs
Excellent news to have a consultation, although sadly their plans would remove sports ground - an area of four hard tennis courts - from our Asset of Community Value. Given the total loss of the Bridge Leisure Centre, this would be a blow. The assertion that an area of four tennis courts would be r...
