On a general point.
It is noted that Bromley Council conform to planning rules more precisely than Lewisham in that comments on applications from members of the public and other bodies are published along with their names.
A good example of transparency that Lewisham should adopt in the near future.

Re: Who's standing in the Sydenham by election in May?
Across Lewisham, amenity societies have expressed concerns about the state of planning consultantions, as they have been problematic for many years now. Would you expect societies to publicly represent local concerns, or would you encourage them to stay quiet, and be loyal to the one-party state? A...

Re: Lewisham planning 400 flats for Sydenham Road
In January 2021 Cllr Sue Hordijenko spoke to me in some detail about constituting a body that has its roots in Bellingham Ward. She expressed a firm view that the formation of such a body was essential and it was important that it then address the development of a master plan for Bell Green that was...

Re: Covid Vaccination- Sydenham Green Group Practice
I do not believe the situation is as cut and dried that the practice can be considered to be on thin ice. We are in the 65+ cohort and we collectively receive 6 invites for appointments through different channels. These were issued at least 10 days before it was publicly announced that jabs for the ...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order
Today (Friday), the Planning Inquiry has not completed taking evidence and at least one more day and possibly two will be required to complete that phase, the first of which has been set for next Thursday 25 March. The parties and the Planning Inspector have arranged to make a site visit on Tuesday....

For Julia (JRW) Have observed both sessions of the Inquiry this morning (Tuesday). My version of MS Teams does not permit me to record the session but even if I had the Pro version I would think PINS probably control and retain the right to record, or not, using MS Teams software. It was observed th...

Re: Sydenham is a London property hotspot
Interesting report. Anecdotally had been hearing, through conversation mainly, that there was an element of Covid-flight from parts of Lewisham and, in the main, with people moving out to Kent in the last year. Not in the several hundreds but certainly around 50 instances allegedly. It might be gues...

Who's standing in the Sydenham by election in May?
Remember the red wall? Disruptive politics will change certainties. And while you are right to point out that this is about a local microcosm - you will have noticed that it can quickly be put into the context of national and even Scottish politics. That's why even though you know you are going to ...

Just an observation or two. Secessionist tendencies? I may possess a few but as Stuart points out, only localised. SNP policies are not mine. I like my UK truly united. You may think, oddly, I have an admiration for Nippy Sweetie and Alex S - both stand head-and-shoulders above anyone currently inst...

It was down well after midnight last night.
There is only skeleton staff present in the building with everyone working remotely.
Probably means that no-one will be doing basic checks and techies only responding to reports of failure.

Re: Anybody clap last night?
But if you see those measures as an extension of lockdown policy then it's just the same pattern repeating. The Government making the right policy decisions, but half heartedly and much too late. If the Civil Service had been instructed to work on this stuff in March last year, then you would by no...

Which means you can't pin this debacle on Putin. In normal circumstances I could not disagree with your view. Putin is far from normal. Not a politician. Not even a Russian politician. He is and was a Russian spy-master and it does not matter which brand (KGB or otherwise) you label him with. Ingra...

I'm convinced Jeremy would have run Boris hard in incompetence at understanding, taking and sustaining difficult decisions in an area politicians of any hue are not well trained in. Or even our current civil service? That's the reason the NHS, Public Health experts and the pharmaceutical industry h...

Re: Covid-19 vaccination bookings for over 65s now open
We are a household bubble of two, have both been vaccinated in the last week and are in the 65+ category. In that same last week, we have received the following invitations to register for vaccination: KCH - I was an outpatient there in 2020 - responded to them and asked that they accept us both as ...
