Re: Freeview reception problems?

I thought ITV was from a different transmitter?

Anyway, fingers crossed, it seems to be okay again, but I'll keep an eye on things. And yes, I do have an internal aerial - metal ring. Never had a problem with it in the past 6 years or so.

Re: Freeview reception problems?

Picture's been horrendous (as in totally unwatchable/unlistenable) tonight on the BBC Channels, and I think London Live and Channel 4, less bad on More4. ITV seems unaffected. Is this generally the case, or is it just my TV?

Re: Freeview reception problems?

Actually, I'm starting to wonder whether it doesn't like the HD recorder I've temporarily got plugged into it. I'll see if the problem persists into next week.

Freeview reception problems?

A couple of times recently, we've turned on the TV to find a message saying that there is no signal detected. We're in line-of-sight to the Crystal Palace transmitter. Is anyone else having the same problem, or is it just us?

I suspect there's probably already a thread relating to this in the Town Café.

I wish I'd known about it. I'm supposed to be on their mailing list for concerts, but this one didn't reach me, I don't think.

Is there any more progress (?) on this? I've noticed recent boards still have what appears to be the Beckenham office number on them.

I was going to ask where that was - is it that thin little tip at the junction with Homecroft? I noticed demolition work going on there today when I went past on the bus.

Re: Trees at the back of Fairlawn Park

I did contact all three of my Lewisham councillors, only Cllr Tom Copley replied (although they may confer and decide that one councillor should deal with the query so as not to replicate any action). I believe that's pretty standard procedure with councillors - especially where they're all of the ...

Re: Disability access

All I would add is don't forget all those with hidden disabilities. Not all disabled people are in wheelchairs. I'm glad you said that - saved me having to do it. Amazing how some people think that putting a ramp up caters for all types of disability, when in fact some disabled people can't cope wi...

Re: Aeroplane sky trails

Were these the ones which went over about 7 pm? I wondered that they were making such a racket. And I did see a big black(?) and noisy copter over here the other day, too.

Ooh and it's great living near Lower Sydenham with direct trains to the theatres (Charing Cross and Waterloo East) in just 15 minutes.
Really? Which service is that? I must try it sometime, because all the trains I've been on from Clock House seem to take 26-32 minutes.

Re: Another person on the line at Penge East

I was at Penge East when I saw the Air Ambulance going over - it certainly looked as though it was headed in the direction of Penge West or thereabouts - and then when I was checking National Rail I saw that there were delays to trains between London Bridge and Croydon, so feared the worst :(

Third? :( I knew of one other, but not two.

The poor family and friends. Let's not forget the train driver - and station staff, police, firefighters ... too.

Re: Stop the use of Roundup in Mayow Park

Japanese Knotweed is unlikely to appear in a new site as it rarely sets seed in this country. Hmm, that's debatable. It's illegal to allow it to spread: but that doesn't mean that someone won't, in the same way that they might go and dump their cuttings rather than burn them. (And glyphosate does w...

Re: Live Sydenham Train Departures

Came in very handy this afternoon :( - although I couldn't work out whether it was actually showing any services on the Orpington line or not. Certainly there was no sign of Orpington-bound trains - I'd have expected a "cancelled" notice.

Re: Live Sydenham Train Departures

I usually use realtimetrains, but this could be useful too, so thanks (I go off Penge East, but it's only one stop away from Syd Hill anyway). I'll save it to Firefox :)
