Re: On the hoof
I could be completely wrong on this - and I hope I am, because in the current climate of Portas, pop-up shops and street markets, Sydenham is becoming a more interesting place - but, I have to ask, under what circumstances would you sit outside the station enjoying a drink? If going for a train, I t...

I've been watching the whole thing unfold from the comfort of my flat and me and Mrs Checkmate will be popping down later. I fancy a bit of pizza and a muffin for lunch ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: KFC in Savacentre grounds?
If you have a conversation with a group of people the subject normally changes, what's wrong with that happening on here? Face-to-face conversations and forum threads are completely different. On a local forum, in a section of that forum intended to be more of an exchange of information about the lo...

Re: KFC in Savacentre grounds?
There was nothing to stop those who wanted to discuss the ethnic makeup and criminal tendencies of chicken shop customers to start another post to do so, leaving those able and willing to answer my question to do so here. I completely accept what has been said, in this thread as well as the one in t...

Re: Threads wandering off-topic
I would have thought that if it drifted to the extent that the vast majority of the content didn't relate to the post's title, it mgiht require tinkering wtih or splitting (or even simply renaming) purely on the grounds that a newcomer to the thread would find very little relevant to the title conta...

Re: KFC in Savacentre grounds?
So a photo showing a group of youths that follow a certain musical gender from a diversity of ethnic backgrounds would have been accepted as non racist ? Utter drivel, if the implication was that only Black people listen to RnB, it would be incorrect, yes, but I fail to understand how it is ...

Re: KFC in Savacentre grounds?
I think I am going to abandon this thread at this point. If it helps with your O.P. here is KFC's target locations http://www.kfcdevelopment.co.uk/where-we-want-to-be.aspx#Results Perhaps Stuart Gall could help you ? Did the O.P. call or any one else ? Doubt it No, I did not. I thought I would ask ...

Threads wandering off-topic
Is there a policy, guideline, or point of view regarding threads going off-topic?
Everything drifts from time to time, but 190-odd posts in response to my query about KFC with the number of posts that answer my query scarcely into double figures is a little too far off topic, no?

Returning to Checkmate's original post Well F**K me! 195 posts precede this one in this thread, including my original one. Only five or six of them have any relevance to that original one. I've seen posts along the lines of mine before......"What's going to move in where the xxxxxx shop was th...

Ranting after too little sleep is a concept I am very familiar with! Look what the time is, and I don't start work for another 7hrs or finish for another 15! Interesting to note that, on Sunday, London Overground weren't running between Sydenham and West Croydon....I wonder if what was going on over...

Re: KFC in Savacentre grounds?
Nice nutritional meal for the kids, deep fried modified chicken ! Yeah, of course if you are taking your kids down KFC (or McD's or any other fast food outlet) on a daily basis, there is an issue, but why can't the occasional KFC be part of a balanced diet? And the only "modified" chicken...

Re: KFC in Savacentre grounds?
Eagle, your typical customer is either a slob with an attitude problem or a scowling 'youth'. I'm neither. Two of those young men are wearing masks in broad daylight. Do you consider it "ordinary" for young men to go about in public with their faces covered? Muslim women can get away with...
