If they are passing off a cheap fish as cod, perhaps it needs to be reported? There’s the possibility of a public health risk there, i think.
I’m so sad to read this - we’ve been getting our fish there for more than ten years. It was alway fresh, tasty and HUGE.

Re: New ikea coming to Greenwich
Because they make everyone's house look like James Bond's ski lodge. You say that like it’s a bad thing. Are you perhaps unaware than ‘Mid-century vintage’ is all the rage in interiors right now? I was watching North By Northwest at the weekend and positively lusting after the villian’s lodge on Mo...

Prosilver is much more to my taste - although am I remembering correctly that the board was blue before it was grey?? Anyway, I’m happy to stick to the Prosilver.

Re: The New Look Forum
I’ve posted a more detailed response in the Asylum, but yes, the header and a few other small details need finessing, in my opinion. I don’t know how much flexibility there is in the forum software, but these are all things that I’ve been able to implement easily on my own website.

Re: Who chose
Froma purely aesthetic point of view, I’d say using two shades of yellow from different ‘warmth’ families is very jarring. I think the cool lemon for the main body is fine, but you might want to rethink the banana yellow as the accent and header colour. I’d suggest looking at the icon photo and taki...

Re: Our Lady & St Philip Neri Infants Building for Sale
Gosh, this makes me sad. Both my kids went there. It is the most wonderful purpose built infant school, everything scaled down for little ones. And I live in earshot if the playground. I’ll miss the sound of the handbell ringing at the end of break. It’s a sizeable site, I assume it will be develope...

Re: Problem posting
I’m dismayed, though, to see my OP screenshot and posted on Twitter, as well as the other forum, as proof of this forum’s dangerous decrepitude. I hope the tweets at least will be deleted now in the light of Stuart’s reply here. If my user name had been cropped from the screenshot I’d be less unhappy.

Re: Problem posting
Good question. Although it’s not like the forum holds a lot of my personal data, certainly not data that would be of much use to anyone. It’s good practice to use ‘spare’ email address and aliases for signing up to anything like a forum, and not the email address you use for any organisation that ho...

Re: STF Users Meeting - arranged 1pm Sunday (NOT 12 noon)
Slightly off-topic, but I saw JGD’s comment on the other forum and was completely perplexed by it and it did sound as if JGD was having a dig at topofthehill in some obscure way. I’m glad to hear that wasn’t the case.

Re: A Leaf out of East Dulwich Forum's book?
All of that is true, Rod. For me, I just don’t feel the need uninhibitedly express myself online. It doesn’t feel like either a right or something that brings a huge positive to my life. Weighing everything up, if I never posted on a forum again, I wouldn’t feel any loss. The NEED to express oneself...

Re: A Leaf out of East Dulwich Forum's book?
I post under my real name here and elsewhere. I too rely on my social media profile professionally. This means I don’t say anything online that could compromise that. For me, using a false name is simply a way of making it easier to do something I shouldn’t do. If I want to have conversations that I...

Well, yes. That’s what it means to ‘mute’ a user. I don’t think the OP was asking for anything more wide ranging than that.admin wrote:
That only applies to what you personally can see, of course.

Re: Is There...
I can lock a thread, which means no more posts can be made on it. I don't think you can mute a person. Yes you can. In your user control centre you can designate other users as friends or foes. You can then select not to see posts from foes. I can’t remever if this also mutes entire threads started...

Re: Can you recycle ... ???
Interesting that cardboard can't be recycled. Maybe that explains why a load has been dumped in Kent House Rd this week! https://www.lewisham.gov.uk/myservices/wasterecycle/recycling/Pages/What-can-i-put-in-my-recycling-bin.aspx It says cardboard can be recycled. It only says not to put wet cardboa...

Re: Mayow road/Sydenham road crossing.
There is widespread ignorance on how pedestrian crossings work. Many people do not realise, for example, that where the crossing is divided by a central reservation it is two seperate crossings. Why, have they changed the law there as well? A crossing is still one crossing unless it's staggered, su...

Re: Should Mayo Road have controlled parking?
A CPZ would certainly help clear that problem from your street. But until all of London becomes a CPZ, it just becomes someone else’s problem. In an ideal world, which authority would you report these illegally parked but not uninsured vehicles to and is there any realistic hope of something being d...

Re: Should Mayo Road have controlled parking?
Where are you seeing dumped (as opposed to parked) cars on Mayow Road? I agree controlled parking isn’t the answer to that problem. On the contrary. When our car was stolen - we only recovered it because it had been dumped in a controlled zone. So it got ticketed and then we were chased. Stuart Ah,...
