Re: Should Mayo Road have controlled parking?
Where are you seeing dumped (as opposed to parked) cars on Mayow Road? I agree controlled parking isn’t the answer to that problem.

You’re right. The angle of the photo is deceiving.broken_shaman wrote:It was a scooter, widely referred to in the media as a moped, although that classification requires a small engine and, in my mind, pedals.

Other way around, I think - the police were already chasing the motorbike, which is why there were so many police immediately on the scene. The motorbike can be seen lying on the road in these photographs, and it looks like other vehicles were involved. https://twitter.com/sydenhamnewsuk/status/1037...

Re: sticky:RUMOURS: CINEMA AND NANDOS COMING TO SYDENHAM
drove past yesterday afternoon as the Nando's fit out team were leaving for the day. Good to see work happening. Hope it opens soon. (and The Greyhound looks fantastic too) The Greyhound does indeed look fantastic. I think this every time I round Cobbs Corner roundabout on the way into Sydenham. Ha...

Re: Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds over Sydenham?
the line of clear sky is either where one plane has flown through the cloud creating the clear path, or more likely it's where two planes have followed a similar path, a short distance apart, and left a gap between their 'chemtrails'. Condensation trails, not ‘chemtrails’, unless you are a conspira...

Any chance Labour campaigners knocked on your door during a previous campaign and asked how you were voting, so they have you on their list as a Labour voter? That could be the simple answer.

I do hope everyone who has had issues with the Greyhound has let them know as well as members here. Sometimes businesses get things wrong, and they wont know if you don’t tell them.

But... it’s not finished. The main dining is going to move upstairs, isn’t it? But until it does, they need to maximise what they make from running the kitchen. So how it feels now is not the finished product. Yes, I know I’m repeating myself.

I’m assuming the current configuration is temporary until the upstairs dining room opens.
Re: Toys R Us
The ToysRUs site would be an excellent location for a new cinema. How I wish someone would sweep in with some funds to set up a lovely Picturehouse. I have no doubts it would be very popular and easy for people to get to and park from neighbouring boroughs. It would hardly fit with Picturehouse’s e...

Re: Been to The Greyhound yet?
Had a really excellent Sunday lunch at the Greyhound today. It was packed but the service was prompt and the food hot and delicious. The way the old tiles have been reused is really effective. The atmosphere was really buzzing and once the conservatory is completed, the interior space will be more t...

My current liners from Ocado are 10L and do have some overhang over the top of the kitchen caddy, altought I find it the perfect amount for knotting and tying up before putting it outside. The bin doesn’t look like it’s as big as 10L, I too thought it was about 5L looking at it, but they must be dec...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
I can very easily argue against the greyhounds being painted to be lifelike, mosy. It is not historically correct for this sort of statuary. You might like the idea of them being painted, but that doesn’t make it an irrefutable position. recent research suggest statues from antiquity where painted ...

It’s just not on. It’s very unfair on Sgt Biddle. And possibly also illegal to impersonate a police officer! I’m very surprised that the Admin of SE23.com has not taken the thread down. I am not alone in assuming it is the Admin who is runnng the fake account (which is why posts pointing out it is f...
