Re: Houses built in Crystal palace park?
We're not talking about a few houses being built on the caravan club site tucked away behind trees are we DickP? The planning permission is for 180 housing units to be built on the Rockhills and Sydenham Gate areas. And whilst much was made about the fact that the 90 units on Rockhills would take up...

Apparently the courts have said yes to the developers, should this be allowed? What do you think? [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://sydenham.org.uk/mobile.png What a stitch up! Mr Justice Kieth attributed the thrust of the challenge to the impact on bats! This was clearly not the case but he w...

And so there agent markets it as http://www.acorncommercial.co.uk/property-details/a1-general-retail-shops-property-to-let-in-sydenham-179 The building was in such a bad state following the fire and being open to the weather over the past 4 years that it needed to be structurally sound (which it no...

Really chaps, I had no idea the pubic bar was men only.
@Admin, can I request that the pub is given a warning to drop the sexist door policy or be permanently closed?

Re: Say NO to taking territories.
Thanks for your support Clown. It was a well attended, peaceful and good humoured protest. The KICC event was not the 1,000 strong crowd it was billed as, which was a relief to protestors who had turned up expecting to be hopelessly outnumbered. Here's a few pics: http://www.virtualnorwood.com/forum...

Re: Say NO to taking territories.
Not really Sydenham, is it ? Depends how you look at this. Church Road is not in Sydenham it is in Crystal Palace. Sydenham and Crystal Palace meet in the park. Large events that take place in the park and in CP town centre do effect (usually in a positive way) the Sydenham area. As the proposed us...

Say NO to taking territories.
I saw the following notice on Virtual Norwood and thought I'd post it here: SAY “NO” TO TAKING TERRITORIES - SAVE 25 CHURCH ROAD FOR A CINEMA! The Crystal Palace Triangle Group (CPTPG) invites local residents and traders to join them on Saturday 21st May 2011 from 12:45 PM for a peaceful, symbolic p...

Re: KICC LEAFLETTING
I have heard that the protest this Saturday 12.30pm-2pm at the land bedside the bus garage is against KICC's intended plans for 25 CR and not to their right to have a service in the park. It is important to send a clear message to Bromley council and the Charities Commission that KICC's presence in ...

Re: KICC LEAFLETTING
Why thank you Eagle, am glad it was helpful. However it is important not to give up on 25CR when there is still hope. It is worth bearing in mind that whilst currently the venue cannot be used as a cinema (D2) it can never be used as a church(D1). KICC have revealed a new proposed programme of mixed...

Re: KICC LEAFLETTING
I was merely trying to defend the underdog in this controversy against what on the face of it might, it seemed to me, be unfair smears. Robin the underdog here is the CP community. A multi million corporate conglomerate breezes into town, snatches the only significant D2 venue from City Screens (CS...

Re: KICC LEAFLETTING
Panmum then added a link to a 2005 newspaper article by a notoriously sensationalist (I believe) religious affairs reporter which purported to show what a generally undeserving gang of scoundrels KICC are. I challenged him/her as to whether the article did in fact show that. Robin is correct to poi...

Re: KICC LEAFLETTING
Thanks for the heads up panmum. It turns out this event has been sanctioned for up to 1,000 attendees by Bromley Council and that when it comes to licensing religious gatherings/events are exempt. KICC fill the ExCel Centre with 25,000 a day during the International Gathering of Champions (IGoC) anu...
