Re: Time for another STF social?

I'll be carrying a copy of the financial times, a monicle and a carnatic in my buttonhole. Thanks Lee that conjures up a delighful image. The only pic I've got of me and Voyageur was taken on a girls day out last summer; after a whirlwind perambulation of the park, our carers left us on a bench whe...

Re: New “shop” on Sydenham Road

MFM are quite a superstitous organisation that scare the bejesus out of believers with their obsession with evil spirits/possession and witchcraft. Deliverance through prayers can be a big money spinner. If a person is accused of withcraft or being possessed by an evil spirit they are offered redemp...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

DickP & ALIB. This proposal has already been promoted to the powers that be and presented as though it has unanimous support. Now whilst it does have strong support from fans, I think you'll find the majority of non-CPFC supporters who live in the areas that will be impacted upon by the needs of...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

Syd, Roy, glad to be of service! I did mention in my previous lengthy (sorry) post that Jim Dowd thinks it's a great idea. Well he would behind closed doors with the CPFC2010 consortium. Jim's a football fan (not sure if Palace are his team) and Cllr Fookes is a lifelong CPFC fan. When I emailed Cll...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

Hi Robin, From the onset it appears as though CPFC2010's hand was forced due to the posturing for the Olympic Stadium. The plans and proposal were rushed out but press reports and subsequent interviews with Steve Parish reveal that this was no knee jerk reaction. Talks with the LDA, Bromley and Croy...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

In a pitch to the CP Chamber of Commerce last week Steve Parish spoke about the stadium being a public transport stadium but that they were looking into implementing CPZs over a 2 mile radius. This will effect 5 boroughs and thousands of residents. Also roads around the park will have to be closed o...

You retire early sir! I suspect HD's much younger than he/she appears. This is not the first time he/she's retired pre watershed. I have taken the liberty of assembling a photofit: http://cache2.asset-cache.net/xc/3333207.jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=45B0EB3381F7834D037BE22AA9A570D06C94EF2B...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

Duke of Clarence » 4 Feb 2011 17:28 Bromley's going to be enforcing Res Permits anyway  Endorsing this development will certainly help them get the permissions they've apparently been canvassing for for some time. Too true HD and here's a reminder of what a large area the 1M CPZ will effect: h...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

I don't think they're 'chancers', and accept that at least Mr Parish is a dedicated fan of the club. Also, as successful businessmen they probably have the nous to do a good job with the club on the business side - although the football side is another thing altogether! You darn right about Parrish...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

I have lived in Sydenham for 25 years, use the Park, and as far as I am concerned that gives me as much right to join the debate as you. Now now Dor, I have it on good authority (yours) that you don't live anywhere near CPP. You're sounding like Steve Parrish now, rolling out the "but we/i use...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

I am sure the Noble and Learned Duke has a Private Garage and chauffer for the Rolls. My dear eagle, I have a stable of fillies so am not in need of further horse power. What is wrong with a CPZ for the area shown. Might discourage rogue parkers and people just using the stations Well it is importa...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

That's correct Syd, it's twice the capacity of the athletics stadium and probably twice the height of the NSC. Note how all press pics have been long shot ariel views. Anyhow here's a long shot of my own to give an idea of which areas a 1M CPZ will effect: http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/8036/1mi...

Car use was recorded at 53%, the figure of 70% included those who travelled in a car. Some more statistics from the Football League Supporters Survey 2008 and 2010. The Football League includes CPFC, and CPFC supporters were included respondents in these surveys. 2008: http://bit.ly/fWyQU5 (page 27)...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

Most reassuring to hear that Steve Parish hasn't ruled out staying at Selhurst Park. It sounds like a better solution for him as he will be able to include more retail and commerce. What happens if you get refused permission? SP: "If it looks like it is not going to happen I am not going to get...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

HD makes some good points especially about this being a business venture not an altruistic community venture that must be accepted or the park will fall apart. So far Mr Parrish and his team are not offering any investment in the wider community. He is flogging Selhurst to pay for this move, not inv...
