Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic

Just got a fine for driving through this money making trap. It's very dodgy to me, yes technically correct with the signage but no indication of fines etc, I saw the barriers had been removed and had assumed the measure was removed and it had reverted back to how it was. My responsibility I accept o...

Re: Sydenham DO strike breaking

We've not had any post in about 3 weeks, is anyone else experiencing the same thing in se26? I fully support postal workers and the blame for the lack of post is with the royal mail executives. Curious when the cost of negotiations and pay rises will actually outstrip the damage cause by the strikes...

Re: Gunshots?

I heard the same,, was exactly 11.10pm, very sporadic fire, around 8 shots, like someone unloading the firearm. Presumably second firing less than a minute later.

Most disturbing.

Re: Noise in Lower Syd last night

Is this the same lot blasting music out tonight (1am weds morning), where's it coming from? Sounds like a sound system, mics etc.

So bloody annoying when you have early start for work and need the windows open.

Re: The Monstrosity - ie St Philp Neri school building

It is quite amazing how this building got planning permission it completely doesn’t fit in with any of this surroundings at all. At least the residential buildings opposite (popular Terrace or something like that) had to be made to fit in with the Victorian building surrounding it and the one that i...

Re: Syd Society help request for pavement opposite library?

It seems to me there are two separate issues here, the tyre shop and in the parking on the main High Street. The main High Street parking seems to be damaging the once new paving all the time, is there anything we can do about this at it seems the illegal parking not being enforced. Who deals with t...

Re: Tennis courts in Mayow Park

Wow, bit of an increase from free for casual play reading that site.. "A Season Ticket will be available for unlimited play on the new courts for just £35 per year, or if you don't want to sign up for a year you can use them on a 'pay and play' basis for just £5 per hour. There will be a small ...

What a terrible survey on their page, like they designed it to be the least effective way of asking the questions. I guess filling it in is the only effective way to show how many object.

DIY waste advice

Hi

Anyone got any advice on how cheapest way to dispose of 5 kitchen units? Reading on Lewishams site I can't take them to the New Cross dump so wasn't sure how best to do it?

Thanks

Just to say thanks to all those reporting these problems, it's appreciated, companies shouldn't get away with such shoddy work after the big investment in the paving.

Re: Yummy Mummies, Wet Wipes & Archies

At times I totally agree with Rod, so wanted to say well done for saying something. Rarely seen anyone do that, maybe once. I don't subscribe to the descriptions as yummy mummy etc. as its stereotyping. Its not a majority of parents, but some allow their children to cause a disproportionate amount o...
