Reading through this thread I find myself quite sympathetic to eagle's position. *calls doctor to get head tested*

Re: NEW OPENINGS, NEW CLOSINGS
It's a shame - but personally I find Sugahill's hours quite restrictive - I've often fancied a coffee on my way home from work, but they're always closed by then.
Perhaps a potential sushi site?

Re: NEW OPENINGS, NEW CLOSINGS
I never understood why they opened an italian so close to Trattoria Raffaele!! Surely it would have made more sense to offer a different type of cuisine to differentiate from the successful, established restaurant 4 doors up the street!! Re: Sydenham School major demolition and reconstruction
Juliet Sorry if I offended you. You misunderstood my intention. Of course ladies are in all the professions you mention, but this does not mean they should not be able to cook. All I said was seems a shame that will lose so many trees and green areas. It is a girls school, so wouldnt really expect ...

Re: Sydenham School major demolition and reconstruction
I do hope they bring back cooking as girls now mostly have no idea . Maybe some of them are too busy running companies, becoming doctors and lawyers and generally proving themselves to be smart and capable to subscribe to the outdated idea that women are only to be valued by their looks and cooking...

Re: Sydenham School major demolition and reconstruction
I was just thinking the other day that the 60s(?) style blocks looked well past their use-by-date, so, without looking at the detail, it seems positive to me.

Re: Will you use the new Greyhound Pub?
I live in the Kirkdale area and currently don't have a local - the Windmill, Fox and Bricklayer's Arms are all too "blokey" and football obsessed for me (and in the case of the Windmill, dirty and dingy and unwelcoming). So, yes, I would use the Greyhound (it would be a great place to meet...

Re: Round up the usual suspects!
I genuinely do not understand this. Who can afford to buy a family-sized house in London anyway? What people need is 1-2 bed flats. I could only afford a 1-bed flat in sydenham. I hate purpose built flats, so if period properties were prevented from converting I would simply be unable to live here. ...

Re: The Woodman
I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the scaffolding coming down from the Woodman yesterday.
I think it looks really nice (barring the chipboard covering the front door - which I'm sure they'll sort out) and I'm pleased that they've kept the Woodman sign at the top of the building.

Re: Attempted Burglary
if they know who they are then why don`t the police arrest them?????????????? Erm, the police often know who is committing certain crimes, but they can't just arrest someone without proof! Also, the OP didn't say that the police know the names of the two men - it could simply mean that there has be...

Re: Insurance rip off on electrical equipment
I must admit I only buy insurance for the house, the car and travel insurance. On the basis that these are the only losses I simply cannot afford to replace/ repair - and of course with car insurance and building insurance for a leasehold property I really have no choice! I figure that once I've pai...

Re: Religious Rappers on the High Street
What about between a retired electrical engineer and a 2000 year old carpenter… …who never kept any records of what he said but was reported to think his dad was god, a man who apparently made us in his image even though we all look different, had invented all things bright and beautiful, including...
