Re: NEW: LGBTQIA+ Book Group at Kirkdale Bookshop!

As an acknowledgement of Admin’s removal of Carty’s inflammatory post I will remove my own post and the call for the event to be boycotted. The event has my blessing. I do think that the event would benefit from opening with a brief power point about the historic use of the term q***** for the benef...

Re: NEW: LGBTQIA+ Book Group at Kirkdale Bookshop!

5 years ago it would just have been called a gay book club and not one person would have had a problem with it.

Politics, people. Ideology, people. Dangerous stuff.

You need to do some race awareness, age awareness and gay awareness training.
You have age-related internalised hate. I have an A-Level in all those subjects.

They do not belong in this thread.
You are becoming less tolerant by the minute, but I forgive you because you too are marginalised.

Re: NEW: LGBTQIA+ Book Group at Kirkdale Bookshop!

LGBTQIA+ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual and many other terms (such as non-binary and pansexual). Thank you bookshop - I was struggling to pronounce it but now I know it's an acronym. I'd say 'Google it, Rod' if I didn't think you knew perfectly ...

And the take home question is why you should trust Facebook, Twitter or Google further with your data than him.
Well yes...personally I only use the last of those three (and very much for reasons of privacy), but I take your point. That question though, might be for another day.

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

“CB clearly can't be trusted to have any admin/access rights over peoples data.”

...is really the take-home message from this whole affair.

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

Well if we can’t comment on the actual case (and given we don’t know what the alleged crime is or who is, either the alleged victim, or perpetrator, I’m not sure how we can be prevented from talking about it - we don’t know what ‘it’ is)... But at least nothing is stopping me from commenting on the ...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

Yeah but if you were a local teacher, youth leader, pastor, business owner, councilor, playworker (any job where you need a fair amount of public trust) you really wouldn't want Chris Beach on the attack, given the lengths he'll go to include accusing you of stuff on his widely read forum, using so...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

Rod Taylor asked: ?? Admin - how likely is it that a poster on STF could be a Chris Beach sock puppet? Am I right in presuming as long as he continues to change email address he could pop up indefinitely with a new sock puppet? He has had at least two sockpuppet accounts on here in the past. Thanks...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

Genuine question for admin: what steps have been taken to ensure that any of the profiles on this forum are not still Chris Beach sockpuppets? Excuse my technical ignorance, but is it still a possibility? As soon as I heard about the actions of this jumped up little man I closed my SE23life account...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

In my view, JGD's screed about narcissism adds nothing to this discussion. Indeed, I don't think one should speculate about named individuals' possible psychopathology on this sort of forum. I thought society was supposed to be having an honest conversation about mental health so that we can destig...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

The main issue is we all saw this latest 'twist' a mile off. Rachel, in the novelisation of this thread can you change it so it turns out someone utterly blameless seeming is behind the whole thing? No one suspected.... the walrus.... The problem you’ve got from a novelisation or a TV serialisation...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

The fact that the vast majority of posts on the topic of Chris Breach sound hurt and upset, suggests privacy is still important to all but one of us.

The evidence is in.

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

I just want to point out that one of the selling points of the new life.com forum, as outlined by Chris Breach some time ago, was the verification element that meant that no one was 'hiding' behind a pseudonym. Well, one of the downsides is legal threats and defamation claims. Mr Breach's CV and rep...

I think you need to be more specific - do you mean in the real world that most of this community inhabits or the fantasy dystopia-like world of Chris Beach.
That's typical of this forum - always negative about new businesses opening. How about we encourage resourceful local entrepreneurs like CB?
