Re: Another stabbing in Sydenham

Thank You. I have experienced people in the past that have had social problems (not stabbing someone, true)but more slightly anti social, abit selfish, self centered etc.....but once shown love and respect and all the benifits of putting others needs before our own there was a huge turn around and that...

Re: Another stabbing in Sydenham

The judge asked the probation service to decide if a full psychiatric assessment needed to be carried out before sentencing it was decided that it was not required so i presume that means hes of sound mind ???? I think its all very complex....maybe while growing up there were no bounderies maybe he ...

Re: Another stabbing in Sydenham

Today at Woolwich crown court James Campbell was sentenced to 12 years for each of the counts of GBH and 3 years for possessing an offensive weapon. The sentences will run concurrently which means over all a sentence of 12 years. I hope he comes out with more of a fear that another offence could see...

Re: Another stabbing in Sydenham

.....sorry maybe i didn't make it clear....he had pleaded guilty to all the previous offences so on this occasion when he pleaded "not guilty" his opinion was that the jury should believe he was innocent otherwise he'd admit it ! Anyway, Im pleased the jury returned the verdict quickly as ...

Re: Another stabbing in Sydenham

The jury heard that Campbell had a record which included 6 counts of carrying a knife in a public place,2 counts of robbery at knifepoint and 2 counts of GBH with intent where he had got into an argument on a bus with a man who "looked at him in the wrong way"The argument continued on the ...

Re: Another stabbing in Sydenham

i believe the crime carrys a possible life sentence. The judge said he will be away for many years, possibly with a minimum term recommended and the possiblility of his release only once he has proved that he is no longer a danger to the public....fingers crossed!

Re: Another stabbing in Sydenham

....I must stand up for the judge on THIS occassion...he was very stern when speaking to Campbell saying he considers him to be a danger to the public and his sentence will reflect this...when making his comendation for bravery to 2 of the witnesses who had intervened(one being stabbed himself)said ...

Re: Another stabbing in Sydenham

I hope this time,if he ever gets out he'll be too old to be a threat to anyone.with offences that that could add up to 2 x life sentences and minimum 5 years for carrying the knife in the first place and a repeat offender,it should be a very heafty sentence.

Re: Another stabbing in Sydenham

Maybe it would be interesting to know how many "suspects in stop and search are actually found to be carrying knives?? it could possibly indicate how successful it is? I heard on the radio that there would be an automatic sentence of 5 years for anybody caught carrying a knife...if this were th...

Six months ago I wouldn't of had a clue about what went on with the police etc....but seeing the work which goes into securing a conviction I can really appreciate the work they do. Re: Another stabbing in Sydenham

The Judge in this case was very clear that GBH with intent is a very serious offence which carrys a life sentence, there was not one,but two innocent victims who were both lucky not to have lost their lives especially considering the position of their wounds. Considering, as well his numerous previou...

Re: Another stabbing in Sydenham

Im sure the judge in this case is going to hand out a stiff sentence.Taking into account his previous convictions I think it will be a long time before hes back on the street. He already played the card of "the rough area...wrong crowd" etc...but he'd been given a chance of a fresh start b...
