Michael many thanks for sharing this image I'd forgotten those steps but can remember the bare boards and sawdust inside, I still have on my keyring to this day a Watney's Red Barrel that Mr Scrobie gave me, your kind response is much appreciated.

Just for reference should it be of interest, there were three town houses between Scrobies and the church hall in Taylors Lane. The middle town house was No. 33 and where my family lived until moved out in 1969.

You probably already have the answer to the question about but if I'm not mistaken the picture has been taken looking up Wells Road (Wells Park Road) towards Wells Park. The building that you mention as being in the middle is actually St Phillips Primary school with the cottages that fronted Wells R...
