Re: Lewisham planning 400 flats for Sydenham Road
In terms of KP Motors and the car wash, the guy who runs the garage says he actually owns the site so it's not an issue of him leasing the land for his business. He actually leases to the car wash - any building on that site would require a handsome pay off for him. Kevin is good guy who ran the bu...

Sorry to hear that Alwyn. I'm "only" 62 and fit and healthy. You should be ahead of me. Hope you get it soon. Where are you registered?

Got a text from Sydenham Green Group Practice yesterday and had my vaccination there this afternoon. Good set up, all over in 20 mins.

That's as maybe VB, but the fact that people park there because all other spaces are full suggests that there is demand for short term free parking around the high street.

I think the traders on Sydenham Road would make a case.vbsydenham wrote: ↑26 Jan 2021 13:34 I don't think there is a case for any more free unrestricted car parking anywhere in the borough.

Tannsfeld Road ambulance Bay
The ambulance bay on Tannsfeld Road was used by the mini buses that bought clients to the Narborhood Centre. Since the conversion of the Narborhood Centre to the Sydenham Centre and its change of use, cars have been able to park in the bay with impunity. However, I have recently seen two cases of pa...

Alwyn, I didn't realise the queue was 125 long! Whenever I've called its been below 10, but that was before Covid.

Re: Flu-Jabs @ Sydenham Green now Covid test compatible
I have to disagree with Syd about Sydenham green morning phone appointments. I've rang a few times around 8.00 am and while I may have been on the phone for 10 minutes or so, I've always managed to get a same day appointment when needed. I think this year that the practice has probably been overwhel...

Catford has two railway stations.
I have lived here for 25 years and have seen a lot of changes; some of it instigated by the Council. The High Street regeneration had a mixed reception but there was considerable investment and it is better than it was before.

Re: Restaurants and Pubs - the New Norm
The reason The Dolphin has gone over to pizza is that the landlord's Greenwich pup has closed down and he relocated the pizza oven from there. Also, he has contracted out the food offer to another company that only does pizza. I had to laugh that the day after the Dolphin reopened, Tratt Raff announ...

Apparently there is a petition to make Mayo Road safer. Its detailed here, if you can stand all the pop ups. https://www.mylondon.news/news/south-london-news/killer-south-london-road-passersby-18773140 I feel its a bit sensationalist, but three deaths in 10 years sounds high. I dare say there were o...

Re: Barclays closing in October
I'm annoyed by this, but mainly because I never wanted to be a Barclays customer in the first place. I was a member of the Woolwich, which had the branch until demutualisation 1997. Barclays said at the time that they bought the Woolwich for its brilliant customer service, then promptly closed on th...

I saw a bloke on a very noisy, small green motorbike, very fast down Lennard Road earlier tonight. Appeared to be ridden by a middle aged white guy in a grey hoody with no helmet. He was bald and had mad staring eyes. I think he was on something, other than the small green motorbike.
