Current priorities are long-life milk, juice, fruits and puddings, ...

Re: 278 - 280 Kirkdale

Tim, most developers revise their plans over the course of projects of this scale and I wasn't speculating on the ability of the developer to fund the project. I perhaps could have been clearer that project 'completion' shouldn't just mean ensuring the building is finished. I am sure that a key cons...

Re: 278 - 280 Kirkdale

Hello - I've been speaking to the developer and the agents as (don't tell anyone) I'm always on the lookout for additional sites in the area, as well as our little shop at 161 Kirkdale. I understand that the original intention wasn't feasible given current lending criteria (commercial and residentia...

Re: Wine bar at 161 Kirkdale

Children, babies, and their adult companions are very welcome - and we like to think of ourselves as a coffee/food/wine/beer/other things shop.... so hopefully you'll find something that suits :)

We have wifi, too!

Hello - I am very happy to say that our little drink shop/cafe at 161 Kirkdale will open in the next few weeks. Re: Project Zanzibar–creating a venue that’s right for Syden

Sadly, Louise and I won't be managing programming for the Zanzibar space We have been working with some talented partners to bring the space back into life as a valued and busy community asset, but unfortunately our original arrangement with John fell through Thanks to everyone who supported and com...

Re: Project Zanzibar–creating a venue that’s right for Syden

Hi Maintaining a licence allows us flexibility to develop the best programme. I’m only interested in delivering events (either directly or with great partners) that are extremely well managed and make best use of the space throughout the week. Any event, no matter what end time, should target a good...

Re: Project Zanzibar–creating a venue that’s right for Syden

Thanks for your comments - and your support for our approach! I completely understand any cynicism (and frustration, fatigue) - however, Louise and I feel like we started this with our events last Summer; John's been very receptive and generous with the space, for us and others like the Sydenham Art...

Project Zanzibar–creating a venue that’s right for Sydenham

Hello - I am very excited about a new project that Louise Brooks and I are partnering on – a review of the Zanzibar business model. We’re working with John Wright, the owner. Our work will evolve over the next weeks/months – as we research, consult and of course take into account the licensing discu...

I've organised some local street food traders - who are providing delicious things including vegetarian, hearty soup and stew, tacos, and Italian smallgoods - plus the pub has arranged a brass band and carol singing.
