Re: Sydenham Market is back on 2nd Saturday of the month
So past by the market today - 4 stalls which is a bit depressing. When are the representatives of SEE3 going to realise the market venture needs some outside (professional) help? And please no more replies stating that all that is required is more volunteers....Sydenham wake up and have more ambition.

Re: High Street banners
I'm sure our councillors will be able to confirm but I believe the contract was awarded to Skanska (same company responsible for the street lighting). I emailed their customer services earlier but received a quick reply which stated that emails were no longer being actioned. Perhaps LBL could get in...

High Street banners
Walking up and down the High Street, it is becoming obvious the banners advertising Sydenham are working themselves loose once again. This is a shame, especially given that these are the second set of signs (the first set having fallen off at the first sign of wind); perhaps the Council can come up ...

It amazes me that no one in Tfl / council thought it sensible to keep a couple of spare fascias for future replacement.

Rubbish along the High Street
Walking up and down our High Street each day there appears to be a genuine need for larger bins to deal with the number of refuse bags left out for collection. The smaller bins simply aren't big enough....Lordship Lane and the main high street in Penge for example don't seem to suffer the same probl...

Re: Yummy Mummies, Wet Wipes & Archies
Speaking as a parent of young children who visits often, I tend to agree that the cafe is becoming increasingly popular (and noisy). This will get marginally better as we approach the summer months however, long term it would be sensible to see how capacity could be increased outside perhaps by erec...

Re: 'Legible London' sign outside Palace Wines
Well done for chasing this - shame the sign has been damaged so soon after it was installed. Although it is sad though not surprising to hear the Council cannot afford to replace it, I think the people of Sydenham can raise £600 between them. How about we start crowdfunding?

Re: Bob Wines
Have to say I agree with what has been said so far on this subject. With all the talk about promoting the high street from Cllr Best on many occasions, she doesn't appear to be aware or well informed when an opportunity like this arises. If she did her homework a little more thoroughly she would rea...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
Whilst i am encouraged by work continuing on site, can either Lewisham Council or Sydenham Society confirm if they are aware whether Purelake will have finished by the end of this month as originally stated. If this is not possible, what is the revised timetable for completion? This should be fairly...

Re: Golden Lion pub
This all sounds very promising - the idea of a farmers type market could help to add to the monthly market at both squares and may also help to bring extra footfall further down the high street.
Will pop by to try the food very soon! Good luck with the new venture!

Re: Car in Venner Square
Whilst I agree it is frustrating that it hasn't been moved yet, my last conversation with the Council suggested that the car could only be removed 7 days after the removal notice had been placed on the windscreen (which from memory was 13th August). This would suggest that the period expires at the ...
