In the interests of fairness, I should add that I went for a roast at The Golden Lion a couple of weeks back. If was rubbish and came half cold.

Basically Sydenham pubs seem to be going for Dulwich prices, but not coming up with the goods.

For me, there is a lack of a quality venue showing the sports (Bt and Sky) Bricklayers Arms on Dartmouth Road is a solid Sydenham boozer and fantastic for sport. The slip in question came across very NIMBY, and whoever wrote it didn't have the manners to sign it.
