They were measuring the windows at the old betting shop (where the yoga studio was meant to be going) this morning. I can only assume that means something is happening with the shop

Re: Seen any swifts flying around?

I’m pretty sure we see them over our garden at Trewsbury Road. In fact I think a pair have nested under the eaves of our house in previous years

We have been twice for lunch. With our kids. We have all enjoyed the food, the service and the selection of beers.

And there we are. Another monoculture with no dissenting voices, no variety of opinion and almost 40% of the voting public unrepresented. Another few years with no oversight or control over the policies of one viewpoint.

Re: 20 mph speed limits

I can anecdotally support the enraged driving from something I witnessed this morning. An idiot in a blue VW golf or maybe polo was driving down Trewsbury road at just before 8am this morning inches off the bumper of a Tesco delivery truck. I would visually estimate the truck was keeping to the spee...

The most obvious reason is when you want to pay by card but the establishmebt doesn't accept cards. You can use one of these sites to order for pickup and pay by card

Re: Food and drink venues in Sydenham

What do people think of the food in the Golden Lion? I have a beer in their maybe once a month but haven't tried the food. It looks and smells good though! It varies. We’ve eaten there maybe 10 times. Sometimes it’s genuinely delicious. Sometimes it’s ok but not great. Sometimes some menu items are...

Right now if you like. The dreaded Bell Green Sainsbury’s sell potatoes (or frozen chips) and Nando’s peri peri salt!

Re: STILL NO SYDENHAM CHRISTMAS TREE OR LIGHTS?!

The 12 days of Christmas start on Christmas Day. So the decorations go up the night of the 24th so they are there for the start of the 12 days. They then come down on the 5th in the evening. Of course our tree is already up at home. As we are not religious so follow whatever timeline we like

Indeed. Although I think in this modern world any time in December is ok. November and earlier is definitely way too early.

Aldi and Lidl, are cheap and not what the high street needs. Why strive for bottom of the barrel, when we can aim for much higher. I agree with you, the area need to aim for higher. I personally love lidl many good quality items but I think we have enough variety of food places on the high street. ...

Speculation is pointless. Anyone can post a scenario that fits the narrative the want to be true. Given the time this occurred it’s jut as easy to imagine a drunk individual wearing headphones stepping out unexpectedly right in front of a car offering he driver no chance at all. They are left with a...
