Re: The Drowning Place - Beckenham Place Park

John.
How about you never go there again?
Would that work for you?
Might help lessen your anxiousness and at the same time reduce the risk of a drowning event at the venue .

Re: Bell Green Masterplan Presentation at Bellingham Assembly

SGN confirmed that the demolition in the full is underway and that they have no plans to hand to consider a "hold" or postponement of that work. Dismantling work on the ribs will commence within a matter of a few weeks. Great news for you then! What do you think of the other suggestions put forward...

Re: Bell Green Masterplan Presentation at Bellingham Assembly

In the published literature and throughout the presentation references were made to the fact that Discourse and SydSoc held to the their insistence that the gas-holders should not be demolished. Despite the fact that they have exhausted every possible avenue to retain them and that the demolition w...

Re: Bell Green Masterplan Presentation at Bellingham Assembly

Discourse Architecture and SydSoc sought to include the single issue pre-condition that a postponement on the demolition of the gas-holders remain in the plan that is to be proposed to LB Lewisham.

Hi JGD, I was at the meeting too, but must of missed this , a pre condition of what exactly?

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

I can very easily argue against the greyhounds being painted to be lifelike, mosy. It is not historically correct for this sort of statuary. You might like the idea of them being painted, but that doesn’t make it an irrefutable position. recent research suggest statues from antiquity where painted ...

Re: Putting cooker in chimney breast

Once you remove any mantlepiece, fire surround grat, firelining and choke you will be left with what is called a "builder's opening" the top of the front of the chimney brest will have a lintle in place, which may need to be moved up the breast if you want a larger front opening. Can't wait to read the outcome of "independent" inquiry that is to be commissioned by the Lewisham council's Cabinet & Mayor to look into the activities of Lewisham council's Cabinet and Mayor in the Renewal/ SCSF/CPO saga,

I wonder if they will find any wrong doing? :D

Re: Is Sir Steve Bullock a crook

Lewisham's structure of a powerful executive in an elected mayor (Chosen by Lewisham labour party members only) and the fact it is a one party "state" in local government means it is poorly scrutinised and is in some ways effectively a local government dictatorship. It seems to me most councillors a...

Waynes of Newlands Park

So I was in Clapham North getting my MOT done. (Even though there's a MOT garageright on my street I always go here as I have done for years) and this rather fetching fuel pump in the garage caught my eye. On closer inspection i saw it was made on my street, by Waynes of Newlands Park. I wonder if a...

Re: Fox Cubs -Sydenham Road / Newlands Park

It might be something to do with having been brought up in a village with an active beagle pack and being completely unsentimental about wildlife, but it always amazes me when I encounter sentimental gushing about vermin. Do people feel the same way about rats? In those days, we used to send the te...
