Frogspawn?

Anyone one else seen any frogspawn yet this year? I've just had a comment on our walk for last week, when I said I'd not seen any yet in the Dacres Wood pond, from someone saying there are four clumps in his pond and his neighbour's. http://dacreswood.org.uk/weekly-walk-february-23rd/ BTW - we're ha...

Booking Dacres Wood

Did you know it's possible to book Dacres Wood for children's parties, and other events? It's done via the Council, but they now have a Google calendar they can share via the Dacres Wood web site - where there is also a booking form http://dacreswood.org.uk/about-us/hiring-the-field-centre/ http://c...

Connecting the Great North Wood

These are the prospective areas - which we're pleased to say they include Dacres Wood http://dacreswood.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Great-North-Woo...

Bird boxes and bird walks

It's round about now that birds start looking for nesting sites, and before too long, before leaves reappear, will be the best time for bird watching. Paul is our local bird watching expert, who has led several walks in Mayow Park, but this year he is planning to combine a walk there with visiting D...

However, the Royal Horticultural Society and People’s Trust for Endangered Species who are interested in featuring our reserve in raising awareness of what can be done to support hedgehog populations, and fingers are crossed for a cel...
