Re: Zanzibar- Licence revoked

I really don't think you could put a night venue in where Zanzibar is without causing upset.

What I was trying to say as well was, why should some people say a venue closes at 11 and that's late enough?

Re: Zanzibar- Licence revoked

That's not really what I was saying. I'm being quite subtle I agree. I'm saying: If a business person moves to make something a club, they should consider the neighbours. Just like if people move next to a club and start complaining about the noise. That's fair isn't it? I'm also saying the way peop...

Re: Zanzibar- Licence revoked

Why should a venue close before 11? There are a number of things that Zanzibar is getting the blame for here, when there are clearly problems elsewhere. Car parking - doesn't seem to be Zanzibar's problem. You could ask: why are the council, police, traffic wardens not ticketing more? or Why are peop...

Re: vote for the best coffee in Sydenham

I don't get the love for Blue Mountain. Or On the Hoof (they do the coffee at the station and forest hill station as well right?).
What is it with serving everything so HOT?

I've yet to find a decent coffee in Sydenham.

I judge them against Tapped and Packed on Tottenham Court Road.

Re: Zanzibar- Licence revoked

Agreed. There's lots of talk about London losing it's night economy. Which is a vague term for "serving drinks and giving people entertainment". While you can see the problem with this: I move to London because of buzzy nighttimes, I am rich and manage to move to the most buzzy area, I the...

While it's easy to point to youth of Sydenham, it may also be drunk young adults.

Re: Moving to Sydenham Hill

Hi Tugaville I live on the wells park estate. Opposite the shops. It seems ok so far. I've been here a year and I know neighbours upstairs and downstairs. I think further up the hill seems a bit "edgier" but that's because I don't live there, if that makes sense? There are more people ther...

Re: Speed cameras on Sydenham Hill

A quick question, if I'm doing 20 mph on my bike at what speed should you overtake me in your car?

Clue: you shouldn't be right?

Re: Living on Wells Park Road

I've just, well 6 months ago, moved to Wells Park Road. From Streatham / West Norwood. I was initially upset to find out about the stabbing and did think "what the actual **** have I done?". There's a lot of regeneration work on the lewisham homes houses that appears to have paused (scaffo...

Also: there is already desirable, quality housing in the area.
Yes it's a shame the land grab by the council led to the demolition of older housing in the immediate post war years.

Re: Talma -Planning Application

It's going to be a pub still. I live two doors down from it. I like the idea of it being a pub again. However, there's no provision for residents parking (it's a car free development) /customer parking. I'm not so much against the noise, this is London my friend, bit concerned about rubbish/smokers ...

*bump*
We moved to Wells Park.
Kelvin Grove will be closer, but Eliot Bank looks "better". Though it's apparent that KG is heading upwards.

Any advice etc etc....
