Hi.
Does anyone know if there are any cafes, restaurants etc in the local area that has baby changing facilities?
The only one I know about is the dulwich woodhouse but would like another place to go to without having to travel into beckenham for a drink or a bite to eat.

If being drunk on the street is illegal how come it seems to always take place outside of the old 7-11 without them being told to stop by the police? Every time I go past the same group of people are sitting on buckets with their cans of lager. What sickens me is that one of them is a lady(very loos...

Sweet chestnut trees
I would be very grateful if anyone could tell me of the whereabouts of any sweet chestnut trees in the local area.
I really fancy roasting some and now is the perfect time of year for getting them.
Cannot seem to find any in the supermarkets.
Thanks.

I can't stand cost-cutters and welcome a tesco express. They (cost-cutters) do not cut costs and charge you an extra 50 pence for paying with a debit card. It looks a little grubby, the vegetables and fruit look like they are about to go off and the staff do not have the decency to thank you for you...

Call the RSPCA and ask them about sending you a humane mouse trap or information on where to get one. The best thing to do is block up any holes so they can not get in and make sure you are not leaving rubbish or food on show for them. Mice do not like to be seen and make nests so also make sure you...

The phone line now says that most services should be resumed at 11pm. It is incredibly boring without a tv or radio. Oh well it least it is on a sunday night when there is literally nothing worth watching on the box. Wish to God we had a battery alarm clock in my house. Mobile is about to die so can...

Staffordshire terriers are not dangerous nor should they be muzzled. Any animal can be dangerous if in the wrong hands not just a dog I think you should be more concerned about people rather than dogs. One persons irrational fear does not justify muzzling or banning an animal. I am a dog owner but n...

Global Thinker. There is nothing wrong to wish that some of the shops would close down. Maybe you like to spend money on total rubbish but the majority of people do not. I for one do not want East Dulwich but would love to have a high street that is worth shopping in. Just because are house prices a...

I have just been writing about this on another post. Where does one start? Waitrose, marks and spencer, wh smith, maybe a starbucks, a state of the art hairdressers that offers brand new treatments and maybe a decent shoe shop, not the usual Sydenham down town attempts. On top of that it would be gr...

I am no way against traders in Sydenham but the fact is most the shops are rubbish and look run down. How many so called newsagents does one need around Sydenham train station? The shop signs are ugly and delapidated and I agree that there are too many places selling mops etc. I have said before tha...

What is the history to the name Jews walk?
I have always been curious as to why Jews Walk is given that name. I would assume that there was a significant Jewish person or community there at one time? Also does anybody know what was situated on Beaulieu Avenue before the houses were built in the 1960s? I have been informed by a couple of peop...

Hello. I am afraid that I can not recommend a good nursery but please do not send any of your children to any abc day nursery limiteds which are mainly based in the catford area. I worked there for a while a few years ago and I had to report them to social services but nothing got done about it. Whe...

Sydenham has many beautiful buildings on its high street but it seems a shame that so many seem run down and have terrible shops. I believe it would be a lot nicer to have cafes with seating outside but it depends what sort they are. If they are like the many that there are now then no thanks! Syden...

Sydenham is slowly improving
I have recently moved back to the area after being away for 7 years. I remember that there never used to be a decent pub in the area. I spent most of my late teens in other surrounding areas as there was a far better atmosphere. I am so glad to see the Dolphin pub has been done up. At last there is ...
