Re: Flu-Jabs @ Sydenham Green now Covid test compatible

Thanks Parker1970. Funnily enough I saw that sign when I went down the high street earlier and popped in. Lovely lady said they did the last one this morning and have now run out and wasn't able to say when they would get the next batch. They had plenty of the under 65 yrs vulnerable (My husband wi...

Re: Flu-Jabs @ Sydenham Green now Covid test compatible

Well this is just getting ridiculous now. I had the letter from the SGGP informing me that I should ring for an appointment to have the flu vaccine. The two dates offered for the clinic were ones I could not make as I was away. I phoned last week to be told the practice had 'run out' of vaccine and...

Re: Proposed 20 metre high monopole 277 Kirkdale

Considering previous proposals were on 100% residential streets (Newlands Park was one), having it proposed on the site of an already ugly petrol station seems a fairly decent compromise to me.. and I live in view of the petrol station as I live on Kirkdale by cobbs corner.

Re: Refurbishment of Billings in September

Whilst I am looking forward to the refurbishment, my mother will be disappointed. I get her shopping every week since Covid and take it over to her in Streatham and she is thrilled that I have such a great Butchers... she has also become addicted to their Quiches... apparently best quiche she has ev...

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic

I didn't mean this to sound like telling you how to travel, it's obviously none of my business - I just feel like these measures are not the attack on drivers that some people think and are just about making our neighbourhoods more pleasant residents (also I want to know your shortcut through Londo...

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic

For all those complaining about the additional traffic on Sydenham Road and Mayow Road - the whole point is to encourage people to walk or cycle rather than drive. If you don't like being stuck in your car, think of the alternatives. My alternative would be... Train to Clapham Junction wait for con...

Re: Heathrow Airport uses ultraviolet robots to kill viruses

Ultraviolet lights do indeed kill some(a lot) viruses. I work in the card payment industry and a number of restaurants now have their card machines in an alcove under UV light when not in use to sanitize.

I particularly like their eco-friendly approach with refills for rice, cleaning products etc. There are lots of these in out of town places, LOADS in Oxford, but lacking in London.

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic

If the road closure was intended to increase pedestrianism and cycling, I haven't noticed many of either and certainly no increase. It is quieter and noticeably much less fumy (especially while windows are open) without twice daily traffic queues which is good for me on the face of it. However, if ...

Totally untrue, as they admitted when some other neighbours rang to complain. Didn't Lee Newham organise some action a few years back encour...

Re: Local public transport and face coverings

Interesting blend of outcomes on a trip today. The 356 is restricted to 8 passengers. The 185 service appears to have no restrictions, no touch in and front doors still locked out. I don't know those routes, but perhaps one route is busier than the other so they have different restrictions? Awkward...
