Re: Sunday - Finally a day of peace

Its been quiet for a few days now since I saw them up a ladder in the siren box. Though I suspect they did not want to pay for the alarm company to fix it is because of some signs that went up today saying it is closed until 31st May when it opens under new management as "Ocean Fish Bar" where on op...

A colleague of mine in North West London was telling me that his hedges are infested with them too.

They are spreading... they are everywhere... :D :D :D :D :D

The alarm that went off today twice was the Sainsbury’s alarm because I went in and told them and they turned it off...
Five times today, and it is the fish & chip shop, I have been over to it and it is their siren sounding, but they are closed so no one to shut it off.

Re: Sunday - Finally a day of peace

I’m fairly certain that the alarm actually going off was above the ATM for Sainsbury’s. If you go in and tell them, they switch it off. It is obviously faulty but they will turn it off once made aware. No, it's not, I know that one as it has gone off before and the staff at Sainsbury always sort it...

Re: Moving to Sydenham

Sydenham is well situated for transport as others have mentioned even though it takes 60% longer to reach London Bridge than it did when I moved here 32 years ago. 32 years ago there were less commuters and less trains on the tracks... of course it won't be as quick... 60% is an over-exaggaration t...

Sunday - Finally a day of peace

Today the Harbor 321 Fishbar is closed and as such their fire alarm that has been going off for 6 days straight is silent. Peace. Serenity. I complained to them twice on Friday Evening about the alarm constantly going off, a young employee told me the alarm company are not answering their phone.. I ...

Re: Government to pay £200m for safer cladding

Personally, the freeholders should have been legally enforced to resolve it, it should not be the taxpayers that foot the bill, but that said, lives are more important than that I am glad the goverment have stepped in to resolve it quickly. I drive past Grenfell everyday on my way to work and it sti...

Received this from Lewisham Environmental Team. Lets hope things will be tidied up soon. Thank you for your complaint. It appears that this matter is under investigation by the Councils Enforcement Team, who are currently investigating the anti-social behaviour of individuals linked to the premises...

Re: Best Breakfast in Sydenham

Can no-one in SE26 cook themselves bacon eggs and sausages in the mornings then? I happily confess that I prefer my own breakfast. I always find that the quality of some of the parts (particulalry the sausages) in cafe's not to my liking. So i get my Smoked Bacon from Billings as well as free range...

Re: Beckenham Beacon Urgent Care Centre

Well, it was not so bad. I arrived at 1030 (thought it would be best to go whilst others were at work/school) and checked in, was triaged about 10 minutes later and then seen by the doctor about 2 hours after that, which was fine, I had a book to read. It's a good job I check medications though, I t...

Re: Beckenham Beacon Urgent Care Centre

OTOH, you can also get appointments with a GP there if your own surgery is overbooked, but only if your surgery has an agreement with them. (I've done it a couple of times when I've needed to see someone urgently and continuity of care wasn't a particular concern). I guess that probably requires yo...

Re: Payless, Sydenham

Yeah, apologies, I should have posted an update. It hadnt opened since New years day. Environmental health and various other departments could not reach the leaseholder who basically didn't care. Even after an attempted break in a couple of weeks ago, the leaseholder wanted nothing to do with it and...

Re: Beckenham Beacon Urgent Care Centre

Hi Parker, Are you with the Sydenham Green practice? You can get an appointment on a Wednesday by turning up at 7am (yes 7am and people do so don't be late). You collect a ticket and come back at 8am when they will give you the actual appointment. Seems crazy but I've used in twice and it works. Le...

Beckenham Beacon Urgent Care Centre

Does anyone have any experience of wait times here? I;ve booked an appointment with my Sydenham GP but that is 10 days away and they said if I need to see a doctor sooner I need to go to the Beckenham beacon urgent care centre, I may go if I feel worse but wondered how long the wait time may be (so ...

South Circular (A205) between Sydenham Hill & Dulwich Common

BBC London failed to mention this on their treavel updates this morning, despite the south circular road being a MAJOR road... I guess South London is less important :) It is closed between Sydenham Hill and Dulwich Common, both directions. Traffic is being diverted via Crystal Palace and for the ot...
