Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order
The Planning Inspector made a site visit to OLSPN yesterday, and walked around, looking at views of it from different vantage points. Tomorrow, the inquiry resumes for its fifth day sitting, with the evidence of Sean McGrath, planning agent for the Archdiocese of Southwark. It may be necessary to ex...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order
Well, we're at the fourth day of this gruelling and gripping inquiry. It is going to overrun, and a fifth day will have to be scheduled. The Inspector is due to do her site visit early next week, and is trying to fix the fifth day in the next couple of weeks. Lots of people have attended, including ...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order
I'd be really grateful if anybody who follows the planning inquiry this week could try and take notes, or, if possible, proper minutes. I will take notes, but there will be chunks of it when I can't. Lewisham Council has refused to stream it, or even make an archive recording of the inquiry, presuma...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order
The Archdiocese is using this claim to blackmail the council, having got themselves in a mess by trying to asset-strip the school’s resources. They sold the Mayow Road site for c. £5.4m, and this should have been spent on the new development. Lewisham also gave them a grant of £4m, when the Archdioc...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order
On Tuesday, 16 March at 10am, the OLSPN planning inquiry opens. It is a virtual Inquiry on MS Teams; you can watch it by emailing Eleanor Morris to ask for the Teams link at teame1@planninginspectorate.gov.uk. To see the latest positions of both sides, you can see them online by searching Lewisham's...

Re: Travellers in Girton Road car park
I didn't see them there this afternoon, so I presume they are delighting another community..... They may have been disappointed to find that Kier has barricaded the entrance to the Livesey with two security guards' cars. They are posted there around the clock, to stop the travellers returning. In ad...

Re: Borough wide CPZ - to help Lewisham budget shortfall
Even if people have off-street parking, they'll need a permit if they want to park their car anywhere else in Lewisham. Otherwise, forget driving to the shops.

Re: Who's standing in the Sydenham by election in May?
When Jack Lavery was elected candidate for Sydenham, I emailed him, and went on to have a phone call. I explained some of the current issues in Sydenham, and stressed that he needed to get active, and prove he intended to make a difference. I suggested he follow this forum, and SE26.life, so have be...

Re: Who's standing in the Sydenham by election in May?
I couldn't agree with you more (shock horror)! I think Labour is heading for a precarious elections across London, as a lot of people feel their support has been taken for granted. We could have another red wall situation here, or at least a number of opposition councillors of various parties. Even ...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order
Just to let people know that I am uploading evidence and updates on the OLSPN planning inquiry onto the SE26.life forum. I can't work out how to post images here, and my content is quite image heavy, so I don't want to oveoad the STF plumbing. If anyone knows how to copy it across to this forum, tha...

Re: Lewisham planning 400 flats for Sydenham Road
I am sure that any development could incorporate them, as they are a highly valued local service. There's no reason why we should have to let the rest of the site lay fallow, though.

Of course. Unfortunately I'm not well today, or it would have been gone already. They will gone down tomorrow. Bear in mind that quite a lot of your neighbours are involved in the inquiry process, and welcome information.

Re: Lewisham planning 400 flats for Sydenham Road
I'm baffled they didn't list the car wash / former petrol station. It is both an eyesore and a potential environmental issue. It (and the one which is now the Istanbul mini market next to the Alfred) closed when the Euro regulations on fuel tanks were upgraded, and their non-compliant tanks were nev...

OLSPN Planning inquiry
Well, the inquiry opened this morning, and is now adjourned until 16th to 19th March. Very frustrating to have more delays, but it is cautious and therefore sensible. Belt and braces ruling from the Inspector.

OLSPN school: planning inquiry starts 9th February
Rejoice! Less than 24 hours before the OLSPN planning inquiry opens, the core documents have been uploaded onto the Lewisham planning website. Search for DC/19/111793, and you will find the treasure trove. The top documents are the most recent, so start from there. I am trying to get Lewisham to web...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order
Well, only two days until the inquiry starts, at 10am on Tuesday, and if anyone wants to listen in, please email Eleanor Morris at teame1@planninginspectorate.gov.uk and ask for the link. Several of you have wanted to know the schedule: it’s all still to be determined. The Archdiocese is trying to p...
