Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

Always interesting to hear from you, Growsydenham. Have you actually read a single document about the case? Looked at the officers' report? Watched the webcast of the Mayor and Cabinet meeting? Or are you just happy to make totally unfounded accusations about me? You wouldn't be personally affected ...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

Thank you for your opinion, JGD, but it isn't down to you. You are not living close enough to be affected, and as I said, I am calling for immediate neighbours to get involved. I don't think it is reasonable for you to insist on controlling other people's issues. If you don't like my posts, you can ...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

Hi JGD, The Sydenham Society position was undoubtedly wise in planning terms; we were advised to demonstrate that we aren't adamant about demolition, and appreciated the disruption to the pupils' education, even though it's absolutely justified, and the only way of delivering the approved design. As...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

In case people haven’t heard about this, the very sad story of the proposed closure of Virgo Fidelis school, Norwood. Also run by the Archdiocese of Southwark’s Education Commission, its buildings owned by the Convent have been declared unfit, and most pupils have already been evacuated to other sch...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

Thanks, Syd. I would be prepared to compromise on the design, but there is no way of doing it until the Archdiocese decides to open discussions. Our attempts to suggest adaptions have been used by the Archdiocese to claim we are asking for things not in the approved design. Durr. That's because you ...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

I find it a worry, personally, that council members are unaware of the £6.1m endowment, and that officers of C&YP are so determined to keep it secret that even high level members aren't being told. Yes, public money, approved by mayor and cabinet, but the conditions unknown, and signed off by on...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

And again, JGD. Absolutely everybody has a right to comment on all planning applications. You constantly talk about living on Perry Hill on this Forum. That's how I know. Similarly growsydenham. My point was that this specific trail is alerting immediate neighbours to participate in a group, where t...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

I have previously also asked what you specifically would like to happen with the school and never received a satisfactory answer. Do you want it taken down? When you mention the community, as I’ve said before, you do not speak for all of Fairlawn Park and surrounds and yes it’s important that peopl...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

JGD, This trail is to alert the immediate neighbours of OLSPN that I can provide full information to them on request. I don't need your approval, and gaining it would involve giving the Archdiocese an advantage. As you live in Perry Hill, and growsydenham lives around Mayow, it is of daily importanc...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

JGD, I cannot believe that you are offended by my criticising the council. I have a democratic right to lodge a public question. The officers debarred it, on false grounds. Exactly why do I need to apologise for, in criticising that my democratic rights are breached? They have both the legal duty, a...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

Hi JGD, The point of seeking the information is not to bring it up at the inquiry, but to have it available for rebuttal of the Archdiocese's agents, should they repeat their inaccurate version of events. They have claimed that the design was the responsibility of the council. They have claimed that...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

This evening, a public question was debarred fon being considered at the council meeting. This was on the entirely phony grounds that I had already received the answer. The question was: “Please can you detail capital payments made to the Archdiocese of Southwark’s Education Commission, to deliver t...

Re: More fun for Fairlawn Park.........

I have already pointed out to Paul Bell, the new cabinet member in charge of planning and redevelopment, that this development needs a traffic plan rewrite. It is impractical, especially as OLSPN is likely to start work simultaneously, as is a traffic blocking nightmare development on Sydenham Road....

Re: More fun for Fairlawn Park.........

My objection to the details of the imminent redevelopment of the Home Park Estate Office, Winchcombe Road: I would like to object to this application, as it doesn't contain sufficient detail to allow work to proceed with safely. I appreciate the need to speed up social housing, but this hasn't yet b...

Anyone fluent in business accounts - negative payment sums?

I have some data from an excel spreadsheet, courtesy of Lewisham Council peoples’ audit. Can anyone explain please, what does it mean if business rates income is expressed as a negative number? Eg: "via 1 receipt of -£36,422.29 plus 1 of -£100,920.11" Paid? Unpaid? Credit? All help appreci...

More fun for Fairlawn Park.........

More fun for Fairlawn…… The construction phase of the new Winchfield Road social housing is going to be difficult for Fairlawn Park residents. The entire site traffic, in both directions, is to be routed through FP. It’s good that their route avoids increased traffic around Haseltine School, but the...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

We finally have a date for the planning inquiry into the OLSPN redevelopment, the 9th and 10th February 2021. Due to COVID-19, it will be a virtual meeting; if you wish, you can follow proceedings live on MS Teams. This is quite straightforward, and many council meetings are being done online now, s...

Re: History of Home Park

Hi,
I believe that there was a Park keepers House on that plot. I'd love to see a photo if anyone has one; it was gone by 1990, when i moved to Sydenham.
