I walk past it quite often and it is always empty. I fear that it may bite the dust if business doesn't pick up!

Yes it has gone, but it never semmed very busy and the signage made it look like it was still a Mexican.

I walked past the new restaurant last night and that didn't look very busy either! I don't think they have done a very good job of publicising their opening.

I walked past on Sunday and they were open and serving Sunday lunch so decided to pop in. The food was very nice indeed, and as it was their opening day we got a free glass of champagne each. If the weekday menu is anything to go by this is slightly more upmarket than the Mexican or the Tapas place....

I know this pub is strictly speaking in SE6 but does anyone know what is happening with it? I have eaten there in the past and enjoyed the food but for the last couple of months it seems to have been closed. Does anyone know if it has been closed for good?

here here! I went for a drink in Kente for the first time this weekend and it was a lovely little place, well priced. There is a small costcutter in Lower Sydenham indeed on Sydenham Road, situated between the junction with Mayow Road and the Kent House Road junction.

I was on the way home last night at about 10pm and there were lots of police outside the costcutter down the Mayow Road junction towards Bell green. There also seemed to be someone lying on the floor. No ambulance but something must have happened. Does anyone know anymore?

We had them in at Lower Sydenham station for a couple of months over the summer and then they disappeared- I think the container for them kept getting vandalised.

Penge East always have them, not sure why Sydenham don't! You could try emailing TFL or something and requesting them.

that's great, I know I am stating the obvious, but the more emails tfl get mentioning bus services in Sydenham (the 176 or indeed others) the more likely they are to review services in the area. I take the point about intervention bringing The Blue Mountain cafe and The Dolphin to Sydenham, and out of interest what form does this intervention take? How were the above mentioned businesses coaxed into setting up shop on the high street?

I would welcome a Pizza Express and I think this sort of reasonably priced family friendly restuarant would do very well.
