Lucy, that first group of pictures are not mine. Those were made my Ronski.
The yellowy, brownish, reddish shots are mine.
My take is viewable at SydenhamShots

A wealth of information
Wow! Steve, what a wealth of history you have compiled. I must set aside some time to spend learning about this place.
Sydenham and Forrest Hill are lucky to have you. Your dedication is inspirational.
Best,
Paul Treacy

Great stuff Ronski
Well smart posting your shots here, Ronski. Wonderful to see. Please send me your Flickr link again as the private messages vanish once opened. I should have saved it, I guess. I hope you don't mind if I stick some pix in too from SYDENHAMSHOTS [/i]. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3418/3180336139_fa...
Comparison
Jwana's absolutely right. Blue Mountain can leave you hanging for ages. Sugahill is more intimate, somehow.
Coffee
Although the coffee at Blue Mountain is good the coffee at Sugahill is sensational. Or at least it was when last I was there. I'll go anywhere if the coffee's right.

I'm not entirely sure this is appropriate but I have just started a photo blog on Sydenham. I'm a photojournalist and humourist and recently moved to the neighbourhood and will be posting regularly an eclectic mix of Sydenham related photographs and videos should anyone be interested. http://sydenha...

Typo
I just noticed the type error in the title. I'm a twit. Have no idea how to fix it. I hate type errors.

Photo blog
Thank you, gentlemen. As soon as the boys are in bed I'm heading out to shoot the fog. Not sure whether to hit the streets or the park. I'm looking for spookiness in the park but would also like to get some nocturnal urban fogginess. Streaming tail lights. That sort of thing. Just for fun. Back soon...

Place to stay
I too am Irish but have not been living here long. However, school resumes on the morrow and so I'll put the word out and see what happens.
Best of luck to you.

Parakeets
There are loads of them in Crystal Palace Park and they really do make a racket. They first appeared in southern England in 1997, apparently. I saw one in '97 as I was on assignment photographing a book on Warlingham Park Hospital as it prepared for closure. I was exploring the extensive grounds and...

Brilliant idea
That's a brilliant idea. My wife and I have two boys and so would not be a suitable match but your idea is brilliant. Perhaps at some point I might copy your idea to reach out to similar families as mine. I love to cook and can sometimes be quite good at it. Sometimes not so good. I would love to ha...

Local businesses
Sugahill is brilliant. Great coffee too. Consistently. And they have free wifi which is well smart. Blue Mountain also a nice spot. I like Snappy Snaps and there's a good cobbler on the Hight Street too. There's enormous potential in Sydenham, don't you think?
