Re: Good old Gurkhas

Just on the edge of Sydenham but in Penge, you'll find Himalayan Kitchen, which is run by the former head chef at Gurkhas. It's takeaway only but superb. Himalayan Kitchen is excellent and it's NOT just takeaway only. They're not licensed so just take your own drink in, they have several tables one...

Re: Experienced waiter / waitress required for local event

Welcome to the forum. I would go no further than The Himalayan Kitchen at 17 Penge Lane, SE20. The food they provide is probably the best I've ever tried, and I consume a lot of curry from establishments all over the country, it is simply top quality and absolutely delicious. Customer review link he...

Re: Accident on Sydenham High Street

. I am surprised that the injuries were only minor but it was a newish car so likely had good air bags. I had an accident in a newish car on 4th March with four out of seven of my airbags deploying in a head-on collision at the Westwood Hill/Crystal Palace Park Road junction. They actually caused r...

News Shopper article here..........

A rather depressing comment from the dog owner after this article, police just don't seem to be interested in this sort of incident.

Southend Lane?

This postcard is currently for sale on Ebay under "Old London postcards - Southend Lane Sydenham c.1899". I've seen a few old photos of Southend Lane from that era and knowing the road well I can always immediately recognise the exact spot where they were taken, even back then it looked a busy thoro...

Sydenham rogue landlords

If you're aware of any please get them reported to the council so they can investigate. Let's also get this shop exposed on here so that we can all avoid it in future, they'll soon go out of business and then hopefully something decent can open in it's place. http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/news/115303...

Re: Is it too late for my cucumber

. Obviously there's rather more benefit to gardening than the possible financial returns, but I feel ideas of self-sufficiency need such a reality check. Indeed. Hence why I have had the large allotment patches turned over ready for levelling off and turfing at the property I have recently bought (...

You can see from the map that it does if you can manage to identify Southend Lane, this seems to be the preferred route of the three options that were considered.

Re: Pub?

They're obviously not cans but 5L mini casks which contain a live yeast and have a shelf life of 2-7 weeks (the clue, if you're unable to identify the difference between a can and a mini cask, might have been the card to centre top right of the photo bearing the prices for ' Mini Casks '). Perhaps b...
