Activity at last! The shop door was open this morning with two of the guys clearing stuff. They said they would be open again 'soon'.

Anyone recommend an upholsterer?
We have a chaise longue which is dingy and lumpy. Can anyone recommend a local shop/individual who could restore it to usable condition?

It was damaged by a fire at the rear on the 15th Feb. There is a forum topic about this. At the time they said they would be open again 'in a fortnight', but I agree with you that in the last month a nose pressed against the door shows no signs of any change inside. I now have to trudge down to Jeff...

Sydenham Road from a webcam just east of Ladbrokes 07:45. Uncharacteristically peaceful. http://edmxtech.co.uk/temp/sydsnow.jpg I have opened public access to this webcam for the moment, but it is only on an ADSL line so performance may sag if it is heavily used. The survey is not neutral in the sense that what it is trying to determine is if public attitudes tick the boxes which would be required to justify a drinking ban. I have some sympathy for the issuers because that is what they want the survey results for - not as part of a general sociological inves...

There are no published facts in the survey of the problems street drinkers have presented. i.e cautions and police involvement, the survey does seem to assume we've all encountered problems. I haven't, am i the only one? There is no information of what actually in practise a 'controlled drinking Zo...

Well there is one vote for more pound shops. Pray tell, which one is your favourite Chris. Musti's. He has four-fifth's of the stuff I find I need urgently. If you come out of Musti's and turn left down towards Bell Corner the next two also have a 'general store' character and are useful. The other...

. If there are enough no's then she will think twice about opening ANOTHER sodding pound-shop that is a sore on the face of the high-street (doesn't she actually ever SEE how few people actually frequent these god-forsaken blights on the high-street)? At least three of those supposed pound shops ar...
