Re: Gentrifiers
As a “cliche” gentrifier (who can, and does afford Islington) but have bought in Sydenham, why would you suggest that it’s those families who “aren’t from around here” are the issue? More like bikers who flaunt rules if the road are only exclusive to SE London? Grow up. Joined:17 Feb 2020 18:42 Las...

Re: Gentrifiers
Interesting signage. There are four "No Motor Vehicles"signs mounted on two standard posts circa 75mm (3 inches) in diameter and form two "gates", one "gate" facing onto Grierson Road only and the other contra-facing onto the junction of Honor Oak Park and Grierson Roa...

Re: Gentrifiers
Yes, good luck in finding an administrative loophole that allows you to continue using a motor vehicle along a street in which there is a clear intention not to allow motor vehicles The point is I’m emitting more carbon especially at the traffic lights so I want to make sure the restriction is ther...

Bike community. Bikers. Whatever. Pound to a pinch of sh*t that the people who live there have been getting irritated by illegally noisy bikes and now you're all banned. Siri define prejudice Prejudice Prejudice is an affective feeling towards a person based on their perceived group membership.

Re: Gentrifiers
Noisy vehicles, quads, motorbikes and whatever are a source of regular irritation to us on the main roads in our area - especially the nocturnal offenders. I think irritation with motorbikes with non-compliant silencers transcends class boundaries Don't recall Syd advising us he fits into that cate...

Gentrifiers
Hi all, So my journey to work has now been disrupted as the route I took on my motorbike for the past 5 years now has no motorbike signs for no reason. There was never a problem until the cliched gentrifiers arrived who are miserable cause they cant afford Islington. Plantation shutters and washed b...

Re: Ella Kissi-Debrah - A Very Sad Death & a Welcome Reversal
Well we can thank the mayor from 2008 - 2016 who did nothing about air pollution. That mans inaction kills about 4000 people a year but it’s just a jolly jape to him https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2016/may/17/boris-johnson-held-back-negative-findings-of-air-pollution-report https://www.huff...

This is why I use amazon prime now! No drama and I don’t like horrible customer service and I’m afraid there are one too many convince shops here that are just unpleasant. I offset my carbon by getting rid of my car.

Re: Black cabbies in celebration.....
It’s a shame uber are doing the minimum required rather than offering a premium service. Hopefully this will encourage then to do better. The last time I got a black cab was 2004 and I had to beg the driver to go to Sydenham from Waterloo I was so grateful I gave him. £20 tip. The other driverS didn...

Re: Coop Forest Hill
Just out of interest, does this new one have those ridiculously tall shelves, as the Syd. Rd. one did after a refit making shopping there a real chore having to keep needing an assistant's help? I wonder if that was part of its downfall. You mention lots of space - is it user friendly? . I didn’t n...

Hey, I went in yesterday and it’s great lots of choice and space. The only problem is the location but I hope I’m wrong.

Re: Coop Forest Hill
It's a great location. There is very little competition within easy walking distance - so a captive market in the heavily populated zone between FH & Sydenham Sainsburys. Also parking is as good as it gets round there. Their strategy is, I think, to go for the places that Lidl/Aldi have left fr...

There was a planning application in 2018 to convert the other co-op in Forest Hill (Waldram Park Road) into a hotel. Could be that Co-Op are relocating.
