Re: Who chose

I have no idea how I would put an image in my post
One way is:

On the Imgur site [imgur.com], under New post, click on 'upload image' then select and upload your image(s).

Under the 'Share this Image' header copy the BB Code(forums) text and paste it into your STF message.

Cutting those services seems very unreasonable of TFL. Have they given any reason?

Re: Watch Repairs

Solitaire jewellers in Penge seem pretty good - they sorted a Granddaughter clock we inherited which wasn't working. They may send specialist work away to be fixed. Pleasant people though. Between Greggs and Superdrug.

The recommedations for EJ Carpets of 1-5 Perry Vale, Forest Hill, London SE23 2NE on google are excellent.

Re: Worst local transport journeys?

There was a plan also to move the station up (or should it be down?!) to the giant Sainsbury's. Anyway, either idea would be a big improvement on the present siting of Lower Sydenham. I don't think there's any likelihood of the widening of the bridge over Southend Lane. It doesn't fit with the polic...

Worst local transport journeys?

Inspired by a thread on the ED forum what's the worst localish journey by public transport? Not bad one-off journeys (hello, Southern), weather-related (Boris sauna-bus) or redevelopment (London Bridge 2013 to 2017 inclusive and still having flashbacks), but journeys that are awful in their own righ...

Re: A Leaf out of East Dulwich Forum's book?

So a moderator would have to delete a post where their name was not displayed in the case you describe, alywin?

That sounds like a lot of work!

Is that a practical suggestion? Just wondering!

There's a mention of this in the Asylum, but no reasons given as yet.

frankly, none of the post offices opened in shops seems anything like as good as the Sydenham Crown Post Office.

I've found the same with Cherry & Ice - I mean their coffee is gorgeous, but 3 or 4 times I've gone there to find them shut, and it's very off-putting.

Re: Fox in house

I heard the Urban Fox society rep talking on LBC (Nick Ferrari) this morning: he said the worst thing to do is to feed foxes, which encourages them not to fear humans and then they're likely to come into your or a neighbour's house. Personally when they come into my garden I shout and chase them awa...

Volunteers to teach IT at Sydenham library

We need a few volunteers - if possible - to teach people the basics of IT. A couple of hours a week (or more!) would be ideal, usually for an hour at a time. Basically, in the first lesson you'll see what they need to know and then teach them from then on, normally once a week. You'd be teaching one...
