Re: Boundary Commission, revised proposals
I'm not sure how safe Beckenham will be in this rejigged constituency....of the 3 wards that are joining from Penge and Lewisham West, two voted strongly Labour at the last election (Penge & Cator and Crystal Palace) and the third (Clock House) was more or less 50/50 between Tory and Labour. Plu...

Re: Cycle lanes
Well, Southwark's policy is not to have any segregated cycle lanes - apparently the council likes to use cyclists as traffic calming devices for motor vehicles.
I hope Lewisham's is a bit more user friendly!

Re: Penge attempted robbery
I don't agree!Yikes. Penge is getting dodgey. In Apr there was that fight in McDs in Penge.
Maybe I've been lucky, but I've never had any probs in dear old Penge.
And it has some great pubs nowadays too!!

Re: Town Boundaries
It's in a location on the boundary between Lewisham and Beckenham (now part of Bromley) so MIGHT be a boundary marker??
Boundaries do strange things - I find it amusing that Penge East station was in Beckenham borough! Obviously the railways came later than the boundaries.

Ellie Reeves MP breaks promise
Sadly, on last night's vote she went along with her leader's hard Brexit, refusing to do what she said she'd do in her election material. Why didn't she support the approach of Chuka Ummuna and 50 odd colleagues?
Clearly she can't be trusted.

Re: sydenham needs an uplifting
I love the Sainsbury's because I find it's just the perfect size! Much bigger than a Local, but much smaller than the one at Lower Syd.Gill wrote To be honest the only reason I go to Penge to shop is the fantastic Murray Brothers butchers and the pound shop.
What's not to like about Wilkos also??

The Alexandra is open - at last
Most of you will know where this is - opposite the Alexandra nurseries, where Penge Lane and Parish Lane meet, Popped in at the weekend, seems good. Nice vibe. They serve draft beers in 2/3 pint glasses. Nice big windows. It's not finished - the kitchen is a work in progress, but its larger than I e...

caz, I think this does count as Sydenham - as you say, part of Syd is in Bromley. This Bromley page has info about the programme: http://www.bromley.gov.uk/info/200089/street_care_and_cleaning/213/street_lighting/2 You could contact one of your local councillors (Penge & Cator ward), Peter.Fooke...

Re: ENCOURAGING CYCLING THROUGH THE TAX SYSTEM
Robin said True, but misleading. Vehicle excise duty is not a pollution tax, although it has latterly been used to encourage low emission vehicles. Well it seems to me you are truly hair splitting here! OK de jure, it isn't a pollution tax, but de facto it is, because that's how governments have use...
