Re: Advice on planning (?) sought

caz, I think this does count as Sydenham - as you say, part of Syd is in Bromley. This Bromley page has info about the programme: http://www.bromley.gov.uk/info/200089/street_care_and_cleaning/213/street_lighting/2 You could contact one of your local councillors (Penge & Cator ward), Peter.Fookes@br...

Re: ENCOURAGING CYCLING THROUGH THE TAX SYSTEM

Robin said True, but misleading. Vehicle excise duty is not a pollution tax, although it has latterly been used to encourage low emission vehicles. Well it seems to me you are truly hair splitting here! OK de jure, it isn't a pollution tax, but de facto it is, because that's how governments have use...

Re: ENCOURAGING CYCLING THROUGH THE TAX SYSTEM

May I suggest you read my post before replying? To help you, I will repeat the part you didn't read: Cyclists do not need to pay Road Tax, because - like electric cars and similar - they emit no pollution, thus no tax. Buy yourself an electric car and you'll pay no tax either. Electric cars - being ...

Re: ENCOURAGING CYCLING THROUGH THE TAX SYSTEM

rustya, what are you on about? Cyclists do not need to pay Road Tax, because - like electric cars and similar - they emit no pollution, thus no tax. Buy yourself an electric car and you'll pay no tax either. Electric cars - being wider than cycles - will "hog the road" as you ignorantly put it even ...

Re: Speed Camera Westwood Hill - Which speed???

Lewisham can only impose a 20mph limit on their own roads. That won't apply to Tfl's main roads in the borough.

Yes, when I asked, they turned it down a little, but really it wasn't a huge improvement. Found the same problem in the Dolphin - that'...

Re: Celebrating Brexit.

No, Remain supporters are not "bad losers" - we just believe in UK being in the EU and (as a result) the UK remaining as one country and not splintering up. Would you have said that the Suffragettes were "bad losers" too, when their proposals were voted down by parliament?* No, of course not - they ...
