Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

There were a few more when I saw them out of my living room window (I live opposite and upstairs so get a birds eye view lol) but a couple of them were just with clipboards so perhaps they got the info they needed and left.

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

There are 4 or 5 guys in hard hats and yellow jackets on site this morning, top of scaffolding and on the ground level so there is some movement today.

Essential Repairs to Rail Structure

Am I alone in wondering why the hell they did not carry out these works on the weekends in March when there were no trains running? Instead, they are doing it between 1am and 9am tonight/tomorrow morning as it needs to be done when there are no trains... #Disorganized. http://i.imgur.com/02uahwB.jpg

Re: Southern services to/from London Bridge

Just seen from se 23 forum that it looks like no trains / Overground beyond New Cross Gate on 4 out of 5 next weekends, starting this weekend. Be sure to go the station on March 14/15th to remind yourself what a train on a weekend looks like! Well the TFL website confirms the above for this weekend...

Re: Uninhibited parking Cobbs and Lawrie park rd

I'm gonna chime in here... As a relatively new resident in Sydenham (Just 3 months ago), I was very taken aback when I noticed all the crowds but more so the amount of cars parked on pavements, blocking junctions etc on the night in question. Honestly I did not even know there was a nightclub there ...

Re: Southern services to/from London Bridge

Yup, I was caught up in all that this morning. Thankfully an Overground came along but by the time we got to the next stop, Forest Hill, the train was full. People at Honor Oak, Brockley, New Cross gate were not happy as they could not board. Interestingly after my earlier post here complaining that...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

Gilly Fairly certain they meant completion by April. Took a long look this morning and could see no sign of building. Surely with all the bad publicity Purelake are not going to let us down yet again. I live directly opposite on the first floor so I have a good view of the site and no one has been ...

Re: Southern services to/from London Bridge

What I can't grasp is why, if they are asking passengers to go via Canada Water / London Overground instead, have they not laid on any extra trains on London Overground. Or even extended the amount of 5 car trains. Since the extra carriage services were introduced a couple of months ago, I have only...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

Well, as I live opposite the site of the Greyhound, I can confirm that a parking suspension is now in force for 1 space in the bay directly opposite from now until 8th December for "Building Works" so it would seem that a space is now reserved for the truck they are going to need at least, can't see...

Re: Accident on Sydenham High Street

Yes, I see the wheel and suspension in picture 2 - on the pavement! The problem is that any pedestrians present would not have any air bags to protect themselves from flying traffic lights and wheels. Rain doesn't have any impact on the considerable inertial energy being dissipated in this incident...

Re: Accident on Sydenham High Street

No Stuart, the front wheel is not missing... it's just about 10 yards up the street!! I went to have a look and the car was indeed smashed up really really badly. I am surprised that the injuries were only minor but it was a newish car so likely had good air bags. I'm guessing the severity was...

My estate agent also recommended the surgery in Bell Green, I will give them a call to see if they are accepting new patients, so thanks for that advice. As for the dentist, thanks also, my current dentist is in New Eltham and I stayed with him even though I was living in East London as he knew I am...
