Re: The Golden Lion

Not impressed with the food the fish and chips was clearly Battered Frozen Fillets and then next day saw the manager buying his food frozen from Lidl. Nothing against Lidl but I'd expect better from a Pub Restaurant.

Re: New plans for Calabash of Culture site

Wanted to go to On The Hoof last night and saw it was closed on a Saturday night. Anyone know why and how can a business succeed with erratic opening hours?
Calabash was the same when it was open never knew what days it was going to be randomly closed.

Re: New Barber - Recommendation!

Went here today, well I'm a convert and Paris is now my new barber.
He's super friendly and a total professional.
Got my ear hair flamed and my nasal hair waxed.
Oh and a super haircut.

Can't recommend enough.

Didn't feel rushed and felt very pampered.

Re: Why high streets die

When staff of the local shops and estate agents park their cars in the high street or the surrounding roads they're actually preventing their own customers of the high street from using the high street. I know that when I visit a high street and can't park then I go to a retail park as parking is gu...

For me it's a well run and managed local business. The encourages more of the like.

NOT
another Charity shop
pound shop

New St Christopher's Charity Shop

To open in the old betting shop on the corner of Newlands Park. I for one think that St Christopher's is an outstanding Hospice and Charitable organisation and I fully support their cause and good work. However Sydenham is now a high street of Charity Shops, Estate Agents and Pound Shops. It seems t...

Bowling Green - Mayow Park

I don't often go to Mayow Park but was disgusted at the state of the once beautiful Bowling Green. How long has it been in this state and is it owned by Lewisham Council? Anyone know more about it!

nobody in Denmark would ever ever cross the road unless the Green Man is showing.

They even wait for the Green Man when the road is closed for road works.
