Re: Zebra Crossing on the Bridge by Sydenham Station

And the crossing (if you can call it that) at Newlands Park on the left hand side of Sydenham Road, if going up the hill, is another real danger.

I am staggered the council have been allowed to leave us with such an inadequate crossing point for so long.

Re: A Family Classified section in SF?

Maria, there are also some good toddler groups on the Penge/Beckenham/Sydenham borders: St John's Church, every Monday, from 9.30 to 11.30am. Junction of St John's and Penge High Street, just behind Penge East Station. About £1. Holy Trinity Church, Lennard Road, I think is on a Tuesday or Wednesday...

Re: A Family Classified section in SF?

Considering over 1300 people have viewed this thread since it began is enough to prove a Family section would be a good idea! Yes, some people haven't voted but not everyone can be bothered to - look at the general election turnouts! Come on Admin, listen to the people of Sydenham (someone has to), ...

Re: The two half´s pub

The whole pocket park idea is crazy. Sydenham has so much green space already, Mayow, Wells and Home parks and Alexandra Rec. They will just become an attractive spot for street drinkers. Has no one any common sense or vision? People draw up plans and just push them through, it is not democratic, de...

They are a very successful chain, so I'm assuming they must know what they are doing!

Re: Neighbourhood Planning: design by consensus

It does seem to exclude younger employed people and those with young children this course.

Without wishing to sound rude isn't it quite likely that it will be mostly retired people who will be able to attend and won't be very representative?

Sounds very good!

Re: Shop between Barclays and Superdrug?

When there was money for a town centre manager, it was badly managed! In the past couple of years money from the community fund has been allocated to a mosaic only a handful of people want, at least £10,000 so far and they may ask for more, and while this has been happening opportunities to access m...

Re: The pub on the kirkdale roundabout

Does anyone know if the model was to scale? The flats do look a lot closer, from this side of the Greyhound anyway, than they looked on the the model I saw in Kirkdale Bookshop.

Re: The two half´s pub

Maybe there might be bars and restaurants etc currently in the Hoxton area who could be approached, especially as some of their locals might be moving down here to buy because it is cheaper? Does this sound daft? Have definately seen some 'Hoxton' types looking in estate agents windows at the weeken...

Re: The two half´s pub

Oh, yes, and the Fishmongers and Butchers and of course the East London Line, which actually has more frequent trains than CP - all new additions! And the fact that Pedders Estate Agents has opened up, means they must be optimistic about the area.

Re: The two half´s pub

Can anyone think of any successful shops/bars/restaurants in CP or East Dulwich who might be interested in opening up another branch? If so maybe we could email them and let them know this site is available and give them some background to how the area is changing. Three new quality coffee shops, on...

Maria, I think a lot of the regulars on here do not have young families, just my impression. I would give it more time...

Does anyone know how many registered users there are now. Maybe the forum needs more marketing?

We also have noticed a huge change in the demographic since we moved here five years ago.

We see lots of people on foot in our road and there are far more trendy young things, posh pushchairs and very smart professionals passing by these days.

Re: The two half´s pub

Something is definitely happening with the Woodman. It looks like they are restoring the original tiles outside. Is this just a spruce up to sell then?
