It was a fair comment.

Re: New yoga studio?
It was hyperbole, yes, but I am frustrated with planning delays and objections to things that would improve the area.

Re: New yoga studio?
What kind of noise do yoga classes make? None, in my experience.
I start to wonder if the planning office is not trying to run the area into the ground. This would have been a good addition, much better than a bookies. There seems to be no will to help the area flourish.

I think the serviced offices are next door to the boarded-up shop.

Re: Poodle Club drinks
I have just been there and so can perhaps help. There is a bar, but the venue is small and during the acts you need to be quiet. However, before and after the show, and during multiple intervals, there is time for drinking and chatting (afterwards there is dancing too). I don't think you would go to...

Re: Poodle club
We went to the Poodle Club tonight for the first time and had a terrific night. Fun acts, lots of laughs, great atmosphere.
A wonderful addition to the area. We will be back.

Re: Sydenham book club needs new members
Thank you for posting information here rather than just PMing in response to queries. It is harder for people considering joining to find out anything about the group and what kind of books you read otherwise.

Normally they are. Perhaps they closed specially for this private party?

Costcutter on Kirkdale
Does anyone know what's up with Costcutter on Kirkdale? It suddenly closed on Wed and hasn't been open since. Sign on the door says "closed today."
Re: 176 bus
Hmm, interesting. I have noticed the change. Waits of 20-30 mins southbound from the river. Buses so crowded you have to stand much of the way, because these newer buses have fewer seats. I am not happy. This is my usual commute and not exactly as restful as it was. Currently on a 172 as I wasn't go...

Re: Sydenham wish list
The 356 is very much in demand as the only way to get from FH to the top of Sydenham Hill. All the old people who live there depend on it and have to wait 30 mins or more for it; the hill is too steep for them to climb. Useful for those carrying shopping too. I would love it to be more frequent.

I don't find Fresh and Fruity adequate as a greengrocer. Need more stock and variety.

Re: Sydenham wish list
I would love a bus that went from Kirkdale to Lower Sydenham without having to change (ad the 356 is so infrequent).
Also: good baker and greengrocer.

I know what spurious means; that's why I used it. I don't believe this is your reason for opposing Nando's.

Yes, everyone concerned please do write in. I was asked if our email should be recorded as an official objection and said yes. Also this work over the weekends should be reported. Email addresses earlier in the thread.

Re: Fig and Pistachio closing
I got in touch with Planning last week and was told their enforcement people are involved. The planning officer wrote back right away and was helpful. I suggest you contact them again at the email addresses listed above. I know this will not help today but might get the matter dealt with eventually....

Re: sticky: RUMOURS: CINEMA AND NANDOS COMING TO SYDENHAM
This hysteria over obesity is simply bizarre given the type of restaurant Nando's is and what else is on offer in the area, about which no fit is being thrown.
People who don't want to eat there don't have to. But don't make up spurious objections.
