Re: Two more shops closed
Well I tried to keep the high street alive and went to a small plumber (not in Sydenham) & b&q rather than order online. And I got the usual can't be bothered rudeness from the staff. It's was the first time I've used a shop for anything other than food in about 5 years and I won't do it aga...

Re: What has Jim done
Here are the canditates Several more names have emerged in the race to be Labour’s candidate in a safe London seat. A local councillor, international development expert and former think tank boss are said to have applied for Lewisham West and Penge. Ellie Reeves, a former member of Labour’s ruling n...

Re: What has Jim done
I'll keep it simple. The rubbish. It seems there are not enough road sweepers, these little things make a huge difference. Its a labour safe seat so they only seem to care about the areas that could become Tory or Lib dem like Deptford, Blackheath, Greenwich, Brockley, Forest Hill and onor Oak

Re: What has Jim done
Well maybe it will be great to have a new MP. It seems every other part of Lewisham have seen some serious investment and improvements in the past 20 years while Sydenham has stood still at best. We cant even keep the main high street supermarket open. I wonder if it will be a massive charity shop ,...

Re: Street planters
Hi all thanks for the feedback.
I've decided to do some guriella gardening and get a load of wild seeds and chuck them everywhere and see what happens that works apparantly!!
I've found a few good spots when're I think it will make a huge difference.

Re: postal deliveries
When I first moved here I'd get post at 7am and a second at lunchtime every day it seems quite quaint now. Yesterday I got mail at 5pm and it was junk most of my mail is junk.
I must say at Christmas when it matters I got post everyday.

Street planters
morning, I'd like to put some planters on my street to cheers it up and stop people dumping stuff. If the place looks loved people seem to behave properly. Loughborough Junction is my inspiration as it has planters and has gone from a foreboding place to actually feeling quite pleasant. Any feedback...

Re: Litter in Sydenham
It's pretty bad where I live and I've never seen a road sweeper in my street. There are still leaves from autumn but go to Blackheath or forest hill and it's really clean. It's obvious lewisham council has no time for the "poorer" parts

Re: Is Sir Steve Bullock a crook
I'm glad I asked the question, I was shocked when I read about him in the Guardian. Lewisham Labour are bloated, lazy and think they have the right to rule. That windswept "landscaping" at the corner of Sydenham and Kent House Road got rid of the beautiful cherry blossom tree without consu...
