Any update on the cinema part of this rumour?
Or is that wishful thinking?

Re: old budgens
It will need to go through Lewisham Planning, so I wouldn't expect anything in the space until 2020 at the earliest.
That's if Sydenham Society don't object, in which case 2024 could be a better bet.

Re: RUMOURS: CINEMA AND NANDOS COMING TO SYDENHAM
I think it would be naive to assume that Nando's weren't partially to blame for the length of time it is taking considering the latest documentation sent to Lewisham for the delivery conditions. The main thing that seems plain wrong is that Deliveroo comes into it at all. I'm sure Waffle Station on...

Re: RUMOURS: CINEMA AND NANDOS COMING TO SYDENHAM
Yet another long and drawn out post by those associated with the Sydenham Society. In amongst the drivel from Chris, where is the substance? If the likes of Pat and Chris spent as much time being proactive for solutions to Sydenham, as they spend writing responses and objecting to simple planning ap...

Re: RUMOURS: CINEMA AND NANDOS COMING TO SYDENHAM
Yet again, Chris Best goes missing when locals have serious questions.
Personally, I'm not surprised, but why on earth is she in her current role? What does she actually add to the area?

You have more chance of seeing the Titanic dock back in Southampton than getting a response from Councillor Best.
Zero value added to the area.
She put me off voting Labour.

Re: Windmill Victory
This baffles me. The Sydenham Society causes far more problems than it claims to solve.
We have a shortage of housing, and the site looks like a tip. I can't see any issue with the current proposal.
What can be done about the Society? The board needs to change.

Re: The Sydenham Society
Thanks for your responses Pat. Given your position, we would only expect you to list all the positives SS has achieved. For a more balanced view, I would find it useful for members to be emailed and kept up to date with all current issues the society is involved in. No matter how large or small. Thi...

Re: RUMOURS: CINEMA AND NANDOS COMING TO SYDENHAM
Lewisham Council and the Sydenham Society tend to be the biggest culprits when it comes to change in the area. Sydenham should be a far better place than it currently is (great transport, lovely parks, lovely houses, lovely people), and I wish something could be done to change the way the area is ma...

Re: sydenham needs an uplifting
I think we need to start thinking about what Sydenham has, rather than what it hasn't. A few decent restaurants. Some good independent cafes Limited chains (supermarkets, chemists excluded) Lovely parks Great transport links Close to a range of good schools A shop to fix your computer A place to qui...

Re: Ellie Reeves MP breaks promise
Labour will say anything to get votes; promise free stuff without even considering how to pay for it. Many politicians will, its true. What I would say is that the Labour manifesto was backed by 129 of the world's leading economists - so, to an extent, it must have something going for it at least. ...

Re: Ellie Reeves MP breaks promise
You seem surprised. I am not exactly falling off my chair. Labour will say anything to get votes; promise free stuff without even considering how to pay for it. It's a shame the many young people that voted labour cannot see through this. For the record, I don't disagree with what Labour stands for....

Re: Save Beer Rebellion - we need your help!
HI, has anyone heard anything further on this? If this couple did indeed table an offer that was accepted then they've taken months to do anything and it looks like it's not happening. We saw two folk, literally 3 or more months ago going in there with hideous looking fabrics and decorations who I ...

Yes, they were back again last night.
Sainsbury's were advised, however the car park is the responsibility of the council.
May I ask what our local council is doing about this? It's both dangerous and creates a great deal of noise pollution.
